Responsible for corporate construction management, corporate asset

Hospital healthcare System, totaling over 6.2 million Sq. Ft. 1975 patient

recommending options aligned with broader building Master plan strategies
and goals for future growth/Flexibility while minimizing possibility of

KAISER PERMANENTE HEALTHCARE, Southern California Region,
Reporting to the Executive Director of National Facilities Service (NFS)
for Southern California. One of only 6 construction executives in the
Southern California region. Responsible for 85 professional and
construction trade staff. Served as a corporate liaison working closely
with area hospital executive teams to coordinate corporate facilities
strategic planed construction programs.
. Key contact person for all interfacing with the Office of Statewide
Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) and all other Federal and local
regulatory agencies.
. Provided site leadership and supported the completion of a new $224M
dollar, 350,000 sq. ft., 101 patient bed hospital addition.
. Facilitated the planning effort that responded to OSPOD requirements and
ensured that all existing in-patient buildings met current seismic design

One of 5 corporate executive, with responsibilities for a three Hospital
System with 1.9 million sq. ft. With a facilities and support service
division annual operating budget of $29M. A 3 year facilities capital
budget of $109M and a facilities division employee count of 537 FTE's. Also
responsible for development of a corporate facilities master plan from
design, development to execution. Department responsibility included
facilities administration, Emergency Preparedness & Safety Special Police,
corporate construction management, space Management, Facility Maintenance,
Engineering and grounds, Hospitality Services (Housekeeping, Dietary and
Clinical Nutritional Services) Bio-Medical engineering among others.
. Completion of a 400,000 SF. Master Plan program to include a Cancer Care
Center with two Linear Accelerators, outpatient clinics a 25,000 SF.
Regional Laboratory and other public spaces.
. Modernization of patient tower and a replacement of an existing patient
bed tower project with a budget of $239M. This was completed on time and
on budget.
. Reduce operating cost by 13% for building maintenance, environmental
services and nutrition Departments by implementing Sunder management
