Objective
My immediate objective is to gain experience working with companies that have demonstrated leadership in
sustainability initiatives. This is in preparation for launching a career in Sustainability Management upon
completion of my degree next year. I am currently transitioning from a very different field but my desire to
make a difference in the world around me remains my core motivation.
During my time as a Medical Massage Therapist, I developed an injury that under the unique physical
demands of that position could have caused long term issues. This made it necessary for me to choose a new
career path. As a healer I have been privileged to change people’s lives for the better by increasing mobility,
decreasing pain, and even assisting to bring new life into the world. As an entrepreneur maintaining my own
private clientele I understand the importance of a business being financially successful. My personal
mission as I embark on this new career is to combine these skills in a way that assists companies in healing
the environment while also profiting because of their actions.

Independent Therapist
08/2008 Present
As an independent therapist I had a wide variety of experiences related to operating a small business. I kept
my own appointment and financial books and learned how to balance the cost of operation against the price
of services.
Clifford Chiropractic Neurology Center
01/2010 10/2010
Working at Clifford Chiropractic Neurology Center gave me the opportunity to collaborate with a team of
professionals in order to achieve a common goal of rehabilitation for our patents. Each part of the team had
a special role to play and seeing how those unique roles came together and changed patents’ lives was a
wonderful experience. When the time came for me to leave I was committed to seeing that my departure
caused as little disruption to that team as possible. I interviewed various candidates to replace me and once
Dr. Clifford approved my choice I spent a month training that replacement.
Sergio's Salon and Spa

At Sergio’s Salon I had the chance to mix the therapeutic level massage that I was accustomed to giving
with a more relaxed style of massage. I also was able to gain experience dealing with a number of diverse
personalities in a fast paced environment.
Therapeutic Massage Specialties
08/2008 03/2009
While working at Therapeutic Massage Specialties I provided medical massage therapy to new and existing
clientele and ran the office while the owner was going through a series of surgeries. I gained many of the
skills I used to develop my own specialty techniques and I later passed those techniques on to my
replacement at Dr. Clifford’s office.

Education
I am currently enrolled at DeVry University and maintaining a 3.0 or better GPA. I am on track to graduate
in spring 2012 with a B.S. in Sustainability Management.
