I'd like to take this opportunity to explain and highlight my skills as a
potential candidate with your company. I have experience in the Travel industry
working in Reservations for a major commercial airline and administrative
experience in owning my own. The combination of my various employment
experiences creates the ideal recipe for a successful match for your query. In
addition to my work history, I also encompass the personality and confidence of a
productive and hard-working employee.
In working for US Airways, I began as a Reservations agent booking domestic and
international travel. Over the course of my employment with the company, I have
been promoted to a Chairman's Preferred representative working with members of
Congress as well as Executive members of the airline's Frequent Flyer Program.
In this capacity, I arrange and manage past, present and upcoming leisure and
business travel for individuals based on their needs. I'm extremely familiar and
comfortable with the policy/procedures of this industry as well as the process of
making travel arrangements. As a result of being exposed to all of the resources
of this industry, I've become extremely familiar with the Travel industry in
general including making hotel and ground travel arrangements as well as planning
and scheduling activities.
Before working in the Travel industry, I owned a small business. In this
position, I was exclusively responsible for creating, developing and managing all
business functions including but not limited to administrative duties, scheduling
interviews with qualified employees/clients, implementing orientation and
training programs, and executing effective time management in order to maximize
productivity. I excel in managing staff due to my easygoing but firm and fair
personality. I know to be a respected and positive team leader, it's vital to
respect and have a connection with staff. Another key factor I mastered during
this time was organization which became invaluable in both my personal and
professional life. Overall, I'm so thankful for the knowledge I gained in
general about customer service, business administration, marketing, and sales.
On a personal level, I fine tuned my communication and problem solving skills.
Though both of these fields are completely different, the assortment of demands
and duties required by them show I am versatile and flexible no matter what the
working environment. It also shows I'm able to work as both an individual and as
part of a team.
Again, the sum of all my experiences and personal attributes leads me to this
position which is a perfect match for both me and the company. I'm looking
forward to the opportunity of taking time to elaborate on my knowledge and
experience as well as to learn more about this company.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
