SELECTED ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Feature-based Blind Steganalysis of JPEG images, Final Year Project, Bachelor Degree
A prototype software package, a Blind Steganalyzer, was created, using MatLab, for image
processing and extraction of 224 features (characteristics) for image classification. The
package had an accuracy of 85% which proved that the prototype was a good steganalyzer.
Research paper based on this project has been accepted in 2010 International Conference on
Informatics Cybernetics, and Computer Applications (ICICCA 2010).
Extended Discrete-Cosine-Transform features and Markov features were extracted from the
input images, followed by optimal feature selection using Principle Component Analysis
(PCA) and finally Support Vector Machine (SVM) with radial basis function kernel used to
classify the images.
Hotel Management System using Visual Basic and MS Access
Hotel management system was developed focusing on four modules - Accommodation,
Restaurant, Billing and Entertainment comforts. The system provides an easy and
streamlined process for customer check-in, check-out, restaurant usage and billing
details.
Rational RequisitePro was used to generate UML class and sequence diagrams. Visual Basic
was used to develop the front-end and was connected to Microsoft Access DB for the back
end.
Core Banking System using C++
The main objective of this project was to define high-level business requirements, and to
simulate customer banking scenarios like performing account opening/closing, deposits,
withdrawal, money transfer, balance enquiry details.
Application was based on C++ with Random Access Files used for data storage.
