Director of Supplier Diversity, July 2004 – May 2008
In July of 2004, I transformed this Supplier Diversity concept into a world class effort. Minority and
woman owned supplier purchases grew from 300MM to nearly 600 MM in less than 4 years under my
guidance. This was due superior customer relations and supplier service. SYSCO Operating Companies,
suppliers and Customers came to depend on me as we produced 20 +% growth annually through our process
of supply chain management. Worked closely with the Houston Minority Business Council and the
Multicultural Foodservice Hospitality Alliance; serving on committees for both. At the MFHA and in the
trade I led several Opportunity Fairs where customers and suppliers were paired resulting in many success stories.
While at SYSCO I implemented the first system of managing certifications, regular sales reporting and marketing
of our program. The validation and administration of these details were structured into an effective and streamlined
process. This enabled SYSCO to meet the needs of countless customers. These efforts were validated by customers
such as Sodexo Foodservices, Compass/Morrisons and Gaylord Entertainment. As well as others across all channels

Heart Association, Share Our Strength and numerous local organizations.

sales and expenses of department. Reducing expenses and headcount by one each year I was responsible. Daily
contact with Sysco operating companies on product pricing, development, and training. Responsible for sales to

sales and profit increases in excess of SYSCO standards. After two years I was also asked to be responsible for
