Senior Strategic Sourcing Analyst/Project Manager/Category Manager
. Manage strategic alliances with national supplier partners and every
supply chain/procurement aspect of various indirect
commodities/categories totaling over $83 million in annual spend (e.g.
future price adjustments based on contractual index pricing, savings and
rebates tracking, monitoring and improving supplier performance,
establishing and maintaining those relationships between supplier
locations and over 150 domestic Stericycle locations). Categories include
leased facilities, printed materials, conference calling/WebEx services,
office supplies, uniforms, MRO & Safety Supplies, bulk chemicals,
corrugated boxes, and biohazard & autoclave liners.
. Work closely with Mergers and Acquisition team to transition newly merged
or acquired locations into our current national supplier agreements for
additional cost savings through nationally discounted pricing. Conduct
mini-sourcing projects for commodities we do not have national suppliers
in place with the new locations. Work with new team members to obtain buy-
in from them on our Sourcing Methodology and practices by including them
as cross-functional team members on various Sourcing initiatives where
feasible.
. Led and managed US Strategic Sourcing Initiative, which included 59
potential vendors for 3 categories (corrugated boxes, polyethylene
liners, and office supplies) and involved a total of over $17 million in
contract annual spend as well as a Canadian Strategic Sourcing Initiative
that involved over $500K in contract annual spend, resulting in over $1.5
million in annual savings.
. Led and managed US Temp Labor Sourcing Initiative that involved 27
potential vendors and over $12 million in annual spend with the end-
result consisting of a single-source supplier under an MSP (Managed
Services Provider) program and close to $1.3 million in annual savings.
. Tasks performed during Sourcing Initiatives included managing and
monitoring the overall project to ensure all deliverables and milestones
were met, delegating tasks to 2 analysts and various cross-functional
team members, analyzing spend & usage patterns, identifying potential
suppliers, creating and sending out the RFPs and RFIs, leading sourcing
methodology, analyzing and comparing final proposals, supplier
scorecards, and overall "total costs" provided by each supplier,
presenting and justifying selected supplier scenarios to the President of
US Operations and Executive Committee members to obtain approval,
formulating the national agreements, and managing the implementation
process.
. Manage, delegate tasks to, and assist the Director of Strategic Sourcing
with annual reviews, merit increases and bonus awards for 3 Analysts on
the Strategic Sourcing team.
. Saved the company over $575K annually through transitioning all of the
company's autoclave liner business, and a portion of the corrugated
business, to other suppliers. The process included researching,
identifying, and interviewing potential suppliers, building analytical
tools to analyze and compare final proposals, selecting the new
suppliers, formulating the national agreements, and managing the
implementation process.
. Work on identifying, and capitalizing on, any additional potential cost
savings opportunities to reduce company costs, as well as customers'
costs, in order to remain competitive, through standardization,
renegotiating current contracts, and managing various sourcing
initiatives for current locations as well as new acquisitions.
