Objective
To use the skills and knowledge developed over the last fifteen years to
help grow an organization through productive management, efficient
operations, effective communications, strategic planning and innovative
change management.
Experience
Armenian Media Network
Operations Manager, July 2009 - April 2011
The Armenian Media Network is a not-for-profit charitable organization
comprised of four media properties; a television station, a newspaper and a
website. I started at the organization as Business Manager, but as my
responsibilities grew I became the overall manager of operations. Reporting
directly to the board of directors; I oversaw and managed the customer
service, sales, human resources, A/R and A/P, marketing, IT and finance
departments. Additionally, I was directly responsible for vendor relations,
purchasing, contracts management, hiring/training, budgeting, forecasting,
expense management and policy/procedure development and implementation. In
my capacity as Operations Manager, I developed and successfully implemented
various changes within the A/R, A/P, customer service, information
security, facility security, ad service, retention and sales departments to
ensure growth and efficiency. I reduced expenses by 9% (without any
employee or benefits reductions), increased our customer/audience base by
more than 5% and income by more than 15%.
Mark Matthew Fine Gentlemen's Grooming Club, Inc.
Chief Executive Officer, 2006 - 2009
Although I was the founder and CEO of Mark Matthew, my role was primarily
focused on enforcing the budget and on creating and implementing processes,
procedures and policies to provide customers unrivaled and unparalleled
service. The entire business was about change. Mark Matthew changed the way
gentlemen viewed and experienced grooming and pampering. Simultaneously, I
changed the way employees in the industry were accustomed to doing their
job. The key factor for success in this role was the use of performance
metrics throughout every phase of the Mark Matthew experience. Setting a
vision, defining goals, developing a strategy, enforcing effective
implementation and consistently assessing the processes contributed to the
emergence of Mark Matthew as the pioneer of luxury men's grooming in Los
Angeles; a classification testified by the praise it received from patrons
and the press alike.
Register Everywhere, Inc.
Operations Manager, 2004-2006
Register Everywhere is one of the first Search Engine Optimization firms
with tens of thousands of clients. I started as Affiliate Manager and in a
matter of a few months was given the responsibility of managing all
operations. My day to day duties included: Overseeing the sales and support
call centers ensuring that support requests were handled efficiently and
effectively while prospective sales were converted in to closed sales. I
developed the vision and managed the implementation for the automation of
internal client service processes by leading our engineering/IT department
in the development of programs which replaced manual processes with much
more efficient computerized systems - more effectively serving our clients'
needs as well as creating time for staff to focus on further growth. I
consistently and constantly kept up to date with external factors that
affected our performance and implemented necessary changes managing the
entire process to ensure cooperation and support from clients and
employees.
Armenian Youth Federation, Western United States
Executive Director; followed by Chairman of the board; 1999-2004
During the five years in leadership capacity, I successfully developed the
organization's first comprehensive website, planned the development of a
paperless member/chapter/executive communications system, increased staff
by three-fold, increased revenues and corresponding programs by 200% year-
over-year for a straight five years, developed and implemented the
organization's first investment program, created and directly managed the
launch of several new community projects and programs (including community
cleanups, scholarships, rallies, summer camps, winter camps, seminars,
etc); taking the organization from a relatively limited reach to serving
more than 25,000 thousand youth.
March for Humanity
Founder/ Director; 2005
Developed the concept of organizing a 215-mile, 19-day walk from Fresno,
Calif. to the state capitol in commemoration of the 90th anniversary of the
Armenian Genocide. Directly managed every aspect of the campaign which
garnered more than $10 million in media coverage. Served as the main point
of contact for media inquiries and interviews. Hosted several community
gatherings. Held multiple press conferences and TV appearances. Organized
and led fundraising efforts, which resulted in the collection of more than
$200,000 in less than three months. Responsible for all donor relations,
volunteer recruiting and training, government relations, media relations,
advertising and marketing.
Aames Home Loan
Senior Loan Processor; 2003-2004
I was a top producing loan processor handling files from its pre-approval
phase through funding.
Youth Corps
Team Leader; 2000
After the cease-fire of the Azeri-Armenian war the villages of the Nakorna-
Karabagh region were left in ruins with hundreds of thousands displaced.
The Youth Corps sent volunteer teams to help rebuild and provide aid to the
people and village (which until today have not fully recovered). I was the
leader of the group in 2000. I coordinated and managed all logistics and
led the groups rebuilding and aid efforts for the six week duration of our
deployment.
