Responsible for all strategic procurement activities for a facility engaged
in the manufacturing of high voltage relays, switches and actuators used
with aerospace, automotive, defense and commercial applications. Duties
include the sourcing of domestic and global suppliers, coordination off
materials for new product introduction, development of cost and inventory
reduction strategies. Other responsibilities include the development and
implementation of long term supplier scheduling agreements, consolidation
of the supply base, reduction of lead-times, set up of VMI inventory
programs. Other focus areas included working closely with cross functional
teams including operations, engineering and finance to maximize product
manufacturability and costing to increase profitability.
Key Accomplishments Implemented procurement strategies for new product
introduction of high performance relay systems for the Joint Strike Fighter
Program that included international sources of supply that included
Industrial Participating countries. Created over 20 major scheduling
agreements that achieved cost savings of 30% on 4 Million dollars in Joint
Strike Fighter component purchases, additionally increasing inventory
turns. Established key supplier metrics by developing score cards to ensure
quality and delivery performance targeted at 98%.

Purchasing Manager
Twin Plants - Santa Ana, Ca- Nogales, MX
Direct responsibility for managing two procurement departments: Santa Ana,
CA and Nogales Mexico. Department was comprised of 15 procurement
personnel including commodity managers, buyers and import / export
departments. Combined purchases were in excess of 80m annually. ITT Cannon
is engaged in the manufacturing of electronic connectors and equipment for
Aerospace, Military, Commercial and Industrial applications. Responsible
for managing numerous commodities including, castings, plastic injection
molding, machined parts, PCB'S and PCBA'S, and raw materials.
Key Accomplishments: Implement sourcing of LCC suppliers in Mainland
China, Australia and Europe for highly engineered commodities specifically
Swiss screw machined products and casting, used in the manufacturing of
high-tech cable assemblies. Established four major VMI programs valued at
over $6M which contributed to increased controlled inventory turns from 6
to 10, and achieved annual cost savings in excess of $650K annually
Reduced transportation cost by $475k annually by evaluating and
coordination of shipments to and from global locations

Mexico facility was engaged in subcontract assembly of commercial products
and was comprise of 1 Manager and 20 direct assemblers. Annual sales of
Mexico facility was 1.5M. Major responsibilities included all operational
functions including production scheduling, HR, Sales and Marketing,
budgeting, quality control and supply chain.

Responsible for the development of a strategic and tactical procurement
group comprised of 4 Sr. Buyers, 1 Strategic Buyer and 1 Assistant.
Emerson Process is engaged in the manufacturing of process instrumentation.
Procurement responsibility included $50M. Commodities included machined
parts, plastic and rubber injection molded parts, castings, SMT boards,
electronics, packaging and related items for process industries.
Key Accomplishments Outsourced PCBA assembly to Mexico achieving LCC
objectives. Developed a shelter subcontract assembly plant and a key
Mexican PCBA supplier which realized a two prong cost savings opportunity:
Reduced internal cost of 55 % for PCBA Assembly through outsourcing of &
$1.5M and a Mexico shelter to complete final assembly product to reduce
final assembly cost by $1.8MM.

ITT Fluid Division was engaged in the manufacturing of fluid controlled
products: gas valves, pilot generators, solenoid actuators, thermostats and
spa pumps. Commodities included aluminum die castings, plastic molding,
machined parts, rubber molding, cable assemblies and related items.
