Product Design Engineer
Design Engineer for a contract design house specializing in medical and consumer
electronic devices for production at our various global sites throughout Europe
and Asia. My role entails working with customers to facilitate development of
these products and ready their designs for mass production in our overseas
facilities. Position requires acting as a liaison for customer support through
written, DFMA, and CAD documentation utilizing NX 7.0 design software.
Travel is required both within the states to meet with customers for technical
support as well as overseas to make recommendations regarding their facilities
and individual projects.

Mold Designer
Responsibilities include the design and modeling of a variety complex 3-D thermoset or thermoplastic
injection molds utilizing the latest version of UNIGRAPHICS NX 4. Mold design and prints created using
associative solid modeling practices associated with UG Mold Wizard software. Projects include Product
Design revisions, planning of core/cavity parting lines, mold components, electrodes, as well as suggesting
and incorporating changes to new or existing molds. Position involves attending in-house tool meetings with
management and shop personnel as well as planning meetings with customers. Typical mold designs vary
from automotive instrument panels, headlight assemblies, domestic appliances and medical housings.
Chicago Mold Engineering is ISO-9001 certified.

Initially hired as an Apprentice Moldmaker, and within one year was advanced to CNC
operator, machining hardened steel and carbon alike on both vertical and horizontal
workcenters. Last three years was promoted to Engineering as a 3-D Programmer of
core/cavity steel. Responsibilities included design, model, and programming of 3-D
Mold Components and electrodes using Unigraphics software. Deluxe Die Mold
manufactured molds for computer, printer assemblies, cameras, as well as many
mating type housings.
