I am writing to you to express my interest in joining your management team
as a senior executive. As a well qualified professional, I am an
excellent choice for joining your executive management team that brings
strong leadership and coaching skills, global manufacturing supply chain
experience, coupled with a sincere passion and keen sense of urgency to
drive continuous improvement and sustainable world class performance. My
resume encompassing my professional achievements is enclosed for your
consideration.
A review of my credentials will indicate that I offer more than twenty
years experience at both the corporate and operation levels within multi-
national manufacturing companies. My professional resume reflects the
scope and breadth of my international experience in all phases of advanced
manufacturing and supply chain management, as well as, business acquisition
due diligence and integration.
I have successfully led manufacturing facilities, both union and non-union,
in the United States, Europe, Mexico and China that produced air
compressors and vacuum pumps for commercial/industrial equipment, off-road
agricultural equipment, automotive vehicle systems manufacturers, home
healthcare industry, laboratory equipment and consumer products. I hold a
deep working knowledge of a wide array of manufacturing processes from
metal casting, forging, precision machining, plastic injection molding,
thermoforming, metal fabrications and multi-level BOM assembly, to
highlight but a few. Continuing, I have successfully directed a broad
range of projects from green field start-up operations located outside the
United States, to turn-around of performance and profitability of existing
facilities located within and outside the United States.
Most recently, I managed several plants, which through the process of
plastic thermoforming, manufactured material handling pallets and component
storage/transportation systems for domestic and foreign automotive
manufacturers, and the United States Postal Service. I was instrumental
in guiding the growth of the operations and supply chain of the TriEnda
Corp from $85M in annual revenue to $205M over a thirteen month period.
I have been instrumental in similar growth rates while at both Rietschle
Thomas Inc. and Gardner Denver Inc., which were accomplished through both
organic growth and strategic acquisitions. Gardner Denver Inc., for the
period from 1995 to 2008, grew in annual sales revenue from $174M to $2.2B,
primarily through the acquisition of complementary businesses located in
the United States and abroad. Similarly through acquisitions, Rietschle
Thomas Inc. grew from $260M to $550M over the course of five years.
During my tenure at Rietschle Thomas Inc., Gardner Denver Inc., and TriEnda
Corp., I have led teams that performed the due diligence activities prior
to making strategic acquisitions in the United States, Europe and China.
These acquisitions ranged from $6M to $550M in annual sales revenue.
Upon completion of the acquisition, I have led integration teams that
included such disciplines as Finance, IT, Purchasing,
Logistics/Transportation, Quality Assurance, Sales and Marketing, to ensure
a successful project and the attainment of projected synergies as a result
of the acquisition. Post-acquisition activities also have included an
analysis for the rationalization of manufacturing production facilities,
warehousing sites and field sales offices world-wide.
To address the overall business needs to manufacture the company's products
in the best possible cost structure, I have lead projects that built
facilities or coordinated major expansions in facilities located in the
United States, Europe, Mexico and China. Furthermore, I have successfully
closed facilities and relocated the production to either a company located
facility or to an external sub-supplier
Additionally, I have been successful in operational performance turn around
projects. During my tenure at Gardner Denver Inc., I was assigned the
responsibility of turning around the company's largest manufacturing
complex located in Schopfheim, Germany encompassing approximately $270M in
sales revenue. The manufacturing complex was comprised of a sand cast
foundry, precision machining operation, compressor manufacturing, blower
manufacturing and a systems configuration business. I was successful in
improving profit margins, customer service and reducing costs throughout
the supply chain to favorably impact the overall profitability from a loss
to a favorable 8.5% EBIT in nine months. I was triumphant in overcoming
the cultural and language differences to sustain the profitability of the
organization.
Throughout my career, I have developed and implemented corporate
procurement systems that not only leveraged the direct material and MRO
spend for the corporation, but included significant international sourcing
of a wide variety of components and finished products. I have
successfully negotiated numerous long term supply contracts that retuned
considerable value to the companies where I was employed.
Additional highlights of some of my other noteworthy accomplishments that
returned significant value to the companies include:
. Concurrently managed international manufacturing plants, including the
United States, Germany, China and Mexico, which consistently delivered
world class customer satisfaction, quality and operational results,
while servicing the stringent medical device, automotive and
agricultural equipment marketplace. Customers included General Motors
Corp, Land Rover, Deere & Company, Harley-Davidson, Porsche AG,
Mercedes- Benz AG, IBM, Invacare and Tyco Medical.
. Conceived and implemented a global procurement organization that
included direct material and MRO spend analysis, Supplier Relationship
Management, long term supply contracts, employee skills training and
international sourcing including Mexico, Europe, and Asia.
. Led world-wide implementations of Lean Enterprise and Six Sigma
continuous improvement programs that returned tangible results with
improved manufacturing performance, quality and customer satisfaction.
I have championed and implemented Lean Enterprise programs that
favorably impacted not only the shop floor activities, but the office
environment as well.
. Implemented advanced manufacturing technology from shop floor
robotic/vision applications to advanced operational systems including
S&OP and SCM constraint based execution processes to increase customer
satisfaction, drive down costs and improve asset management.
. Implemented ISO 9000 Quality Management Systems in US and Asian
manufacturing plants that served customers in the medial device,
automotive and mobile agricultural equipment markets.
. Identified and implemented year over year cost reduction projects
throughout the global supply chain.
. Developed and implemented talent development programs for world-wide
employees within the procurement, production control and logistic/trade
compliance disciplines.
. Selected by the CEO from a nine member group of executive colleagues to
receive a C-Level individual accelerated performance coaching program.
My unique experience at both the tactical operational level and the
strategic corporate level, provide me with the skills and ability to lead a
company in continued growth and profitability. I truly enjoy a team based
environment, providing the leadership in establishing a vision, goals and
objectives towards successful deployment.
Finally, I consider myself an enthusiastic, results orientated professional
with a sincere passion for excellence and believe that I instill the same
in others. I am very comfortable with talking to the team members on the
shop floor to making effective presentations to senior staff members,
company board members or the investment
community. Having traveled extensively both domestically and
internationally, I enjoy meeting new people, seeing different places and
experiencing new opportunities.
My goal is to transition my enthusiasm, creativity and experience into a
high profile position where I can continue to provide the strategic and
tactical leadership critical to a company's success in the marketplace. I
am certain that my presence on your executive leadership team will prove to
be beneficial to your organization. As such, I would welcome an
opportunity to speak with you to evaluate your needs and share my ideas.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Scott Poenitzsch
