Re: Designer position
This letter and resume are in response to the ad placed for a designer. I
have had my own graphic design company since 1991. I have designed logos,
brochures, business cards, print advertising, signage, magazines and books.
I am well versed in all aspects of design and print production.
My current client list includes Western Reflections Publishing
Company, Lifetime Chronicle Press, and San Juan Publishing Group. I have
also designed pieces for individuals and miscellaneous companies. I have
designed and produced over 100 books (covers and interiors) for Western
Reflections Publishing in the past twelve years. The formats have included
hardbound with dustjacket, softbound, coffee table pictorals and children's
books. They have been in four color and black and white. The company is
located in Lake City, Colorado. Working from a distance has never proven a
deterrant in completing projects in a timely and efficient manner. The
majority of my current clients are located in other cities throughout
Colorado.
I have designed books for Lifetime Chronicle Press for over four
years. The books I have designed for Lifetime Chronicle Press have had
black and white interiors with color covers, both hardbound and softbound.
They are located in Montrose, CO.
San Juan Publishing Group produces regional four color magazines. I
have worked with them for over five years. I have designed and produced
issues of the Silverton magazine, All Aboard magazine, Royal Gorge Route
magazine, and the San Juan Silver Stage magazine. They are located in
Ridgway, CO. I recently completed a project through SJPG for All Points
Transit in Montrose, CO that included city bus route maps, route symbols,
time tables, a 18" x 24" two-sided, four color pocket brochure, and a new
graphic image for their bus lines.
I designed and produced the color monthly magazines Wood & Wood
Products and Custom Woodworking Business for Vance Publishing for over ten
years. They are located in Lincolnshire, IL. The company downsized and was
reorganized internally and as a result, their graphic/production was
brought in-house.
I work on a Macintosh and primarily use Adobe InDesign, Photoshop,
Dreamweaver, and Illustrator software to complete my projects. I used to
design my projects in Quark Xpress so am thoroughly versed in that software
as well.
If you have any questions regarding this letter or my resume, please
call or email to discuss. References and portfolio are available upon
request. I would be happy to email a few low resolution samples of my work.
If you have any upcoming projects that you need a freelance designer for, I
hope you would consider me. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Laurie Goralka Casselberry
