Key Accomplishments

The Mercantile---Recovered over $60,000 in overpaid Sales and Use Taxes

from the State of Colorado for 2008 and the first half of 2009.

Colorado Cinemas---In April and May of 2000 I set up the Chart of Accounts

and the Accounting system on Peachtree for a new company which had

purchased theatres from Mann Theatre corporation. Another part of this

project was hiring and training a staff of 4 to assist in all accounting

functions including A/P, A/R, P/R, Human Resources, Internal daily auditing

of theatre revenue and expenses, and a staff accountant to assist in month-

end and daily reporting.

Colorado Cinemas---In late 2002, we purchased MAS 90/200 and FRX software

to update the accounting reporting for the company. We had grown by

building a new theatre and had 3 more on schedule and we needed better

reporting systems. I was responsible to make sure all the information

tracked over to the new system for comparison purposes and to make sure we

were getting all the modules set up correctly.

The Mercantile - Bridgeport, Nebraska (8/2009 to 6/2010)

Accounting Manager for an eleven store farm and ranch company with offices

located in Bridgeport, Nebraska with annual sales of approximately $25

million. Responsible for month-end thru year-end financials, AP, AR, 30

bank reconcilements, invoices from stores purchasing, inventory and

internal audits of all daily sales reports and receipts. I supervised 4

employees. The company used Eagle, Activant and QuickBooks software.

The company was sold in March of 2010 and I completed the final financial

reporting for the company and transfer of information to the new ownership

group in June 2010.

Wedgewood Cabinetry Ltd. - Louisville, Colorado (6/2007 to 8/2009)

Assistant Controller - Responsibilities include payroll, human resources,

employee benefits and calculations of sales commissions. I was also

responsible for journal entries, reconciling G/L accounts, reconciling of

bank accounts and assisting with month-end financial statements. The

company uses Peachtree software.

Colorado Cinemas - Aurora, Colorado (4/2000 to 3/2007)

CFO/Controller - Responsible for all accounting functions thru Month-End

and Year-End Financial Statements for 11 theatre locations plus the

corporate office and consolidated statements. I processed all sales tax

returns and payroll tax returns. I supervised a staff of 4-5 department

employees who were responsible for payroll, human resources, accounts

payable, inventory, internal auditing, general ledger, bank reconciliations

including cash and credit cards, Asset Keeper and monthly journal entries

and account reconciliations. I worked closely with Operations department

and Theatres. The company used MAS 90/200 and FRX programs along with

Excel, Word and Peachtree Software.

Over 30 years total experience including transportation and warehousing,

meat packing, hospitality and property management as well as the above

positions. My prior experience includes all financial accounting thru

year-end internal audits and working with outside accounting firms, month-

end reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit management,

payroll and human resources, inventory control, sales and use taxes,

property taxes, and supervision of staff.

Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with emphasis in

Accounting from Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska with a GPA of 3.0.
