Dear Recruiter,
Attached below is my resume which I am submitting in response to your
search for a Facilities Engineer. I have extensive management experience
with a background in Plant and facilities engineering. This past
experience includes managing maintenance crews, engineers and technicians,
and at one time over 150 unionized production personnel. Responsibilities
included both production and maintenance scheduling; including project work
and work-station setup on weekends to enable production to continue
uninterrupted. This experience showed me the importance of decisiveness
and leadership. I have Foundry experience in two very different foundries:
Hayes-Lemmerz (small aluminum automotive castings) and Kurdziel Iron (Large
Gray and Ductile Iron castings); additionally, I have worked with Stainless
Steel (304L & 316L) castings and machining for the past 5 years. I am very
interested in the position that Cannon-Muskegon has open.
My engineering background enables me to look for cost savings and
quality improvement at every opportunity. I firmly believe in making an
operation Lean and always being vigilant in looking for further
improvements to products, processes, and operations. This philosophy,
correctly applied, will always put the wants and needs of the customer
first. In the past, I have created savings valued at many times my salary.
Also, I have specified and procured materials and parts, issued RFQs,
and performed the purchasing function, in all except typing the PO. I
believe in keeping close track of major projects, and concurrently watching
out for small things that get in the way of Safety and Production. Safety
is my first priority, and must be the first priority of all of those that
report to me.
. BS in Mechanical Engineering (MSME complete less thesis)
. 10+ years of supervisory and management experience in manufacturing
and casting facilities.
. Production control experience, designing for disruption-free
production.
. Accomplished project leader: maintained budget, task assignment, and
schedule on multi-million dollar projects.
I would be interested to talk with you directly. I am available at your
convenience at the number or e-mail address above, and thank you for your
consideration.
Very Best Regards,
Zachary K. Miller
