Pre- k Teacher, Program Specialist
`Kindercare learning Center
April 2008 -
November 30, 2009
At Kinder Care I was the Pre K teacher and program
Specialist. My classroom was filled with up to 22
ambitious 3 to 4 year olds. As lead teacher my job was to
make sure that my students were ready for kindergarten. I
followed a very direct curriculum that guided my teaching. I
combined the curriculum as well as my knowledge and training to
teach my students. Social communication, Arts and crafts,
reading, writing, verbal communication, sensory computer
music, math and much more was addressed everyday. I also
guided my assistant in daily activities. Everything that was
addressed in class was logged and reported to parents on a
daily basis. It was displayed at eye level for the children to
observe and parents. Another exciting part of my job was to make
sure that the other classrooms were creating the
same environment as we did in pre k. I evaluated every
teacher by observing their interactions with their
students. I wanted to make sure that they were using the
curriculum at its best and also using the tools and supplies
that were provided. I gave suggestions, answered questions,
and also assisted in their classrooms. I made notes to be
later used during evaluation time and reported to my
center director. I also assisted with the federal food program
for the center and was the music teacher. With this position I
was also the closing manager.
