Selected to stay on the new facility at Monterrey, MX as General Manager. It started operations
in November 2006. Worked closely with President and Vice-President, made presentations and
strategic planning participation. Fully accountable for P&L of $8 million standalone unit, with
complete oversight of sales, quality assurance, engineering, process development, finance,
human resources, tooling, maintenance, purchasing, materials, manufacturing, safety and
employee base of 95.
Key Accomplishments:
• Won first contract for this facility for $6 million safety components for the automotive
industry from Takata. Laid foundation for long term relationship.
• Implemented quality operation system, environmental system, getting certification for
ISO/TS-16949 and ISO-14001 respectively, process development, strategic planning
processes, and ERP systems to facilitate and support growth of company.
• Achieved significant operational improvements by hiring key operational personnel,
reorganizing manufacturing operations, and implementing continuous improvement practices
(5S, SMED, statistical methods, process mapping, one piece flow, layer process audit, plant
layout, lean manufacturing, poka-yokes, employee involvement).
• Got Supplier development contest first place by Takata on December 2009 participating with
a SMED project.
• Greatly improved profitability once starting as General Manager.
• Established strategic tactics to stay financial health while difficult times during 2009.
