Professional Experience
PRO-DOC SOLUTIONS
National
CEO 1996-Present
. Founder and CEO of the national practice management, consulting and
seminar firm for physicians, medical societies and hospital clients.
. Developed six offices in ten years: (Las Vegas, NV, Washington D.C.,
Brownsville, McAllen and Corpus Christi, Texas and Casper, WY).
. Up to this point in my career, I have written over 40 seminar books,
taught in over 280 cities, and was a national consultant for over 800
practices.
. Developed the best full practice assessment tools for medical practices-
Operations, Compliance, Finance, and HR.
. Developed start-up clinics for physicians and developed a master
checklist for start-ups with many details now on paper from A to Z as a
thorough tool.
. Developed a Lap Band clinic from start to finish.
. Expanded PRO-DOC SOLUTIONS to include :
interim one year management contracts as Administrator/CEO. The first
group practice that I personally managed, was an 8 provider PCP group
with Peds, FP and Midwives. I managed a rural health clinic, (a 3 clinic
system) and saved the clinic system by adding 20 new revenue streams;
using my national experience to qualify the county for a HPSA status,
adding 15% to the bottom line; implemented the A-4 EMR system (the first
for a rural health area); and negotiated $400,000 more for an Emergency
Room contract. This added about $1M to their bottom line and reduced
their dept by $800K in one year. This was a rural area with more cows
than people. (population 2,700-people only)
. The second Interim contract was a pain center with 11 providers and 52
support staff. I sold their Physical Therapy units for the physicians for
$2.5M; outsourced billing; changed dictation systems to voice activation,
started a central call center for scheduling, and re-engineered the
practice, including finding many fraud and abuse issues, and revamped the
entire financial system
to make it more secure and embezzlement-proof. This was an FBI case.
Received $10,000 bonus check my 4th month at the Pain Center for
superb
performance
. The third group I led as CEO was a family practice group (We merged four
practices into one group). Did over 900 tasks/projects with my management
team, and fought the government and low paying insurance and lobbied to
put $5M into the Medicaid system for all Wyoming physicians. Reengineered
the entire practice for Best Practice status.
. And lastly I consulted with a hospital MSO with billing problems and
exposed many problems at the hospital as well as their MSO. This was a 9
week project.
. There was never a practice, solo or group where I could not increase
reimbursement or improve systems. I love problem solving and concentrated
on "problem" practices to turn them around.
