What is Great Customer Service?
For me, the answer first came in the form of a question; Many years
ago, while working at King Soopers, a Manager asked me "You can buy a
gallon of Milk anywhere... Why should they come here?" That question gave
me the key to understanding what I needed to do with my career.
Whether selling Milk or Auto Parts, servicing ATM machines or
providing services to individuals or business, the key has to be doing it
better than anyone else. Nothing is more satisfying than creating a
climate where your customers wouldn't dream of going anywhere else.
Sometimes that means doing what is right, rather than what is easy.
I have had great success in many environments increasing customer
counts and loyalty, increasing margins and reducing turnover. Efficiency
benefits not only the organization, but the customer as well, and that too
is a strength I can bring to your operation. For example, I hate shopping.
Sounds unusual for someone who has spent so much time in Retail. When I
go to a store, I want to find what I'm after quickly, and get back on the
road. For that, I depend on things being easy to find, properly displayed,
and service personnel to be knowledgeable and genuinely care about my
needs. If these basic principals are not present, I won't be back.
When a Bank called at Midnight because one of their ATM's was
malfunctioning, they knew without hesitation that someone would be there
quickly to fix it. When a new patient arrived at the hospital confused and
afraid, they learned quickly that I could be trusted and depended upon for
help. When a Client needed to be absolutely certain that his employees,
products and property would be safe and secure, he never doubted that the
service provided would be first rate. That commitment is what I will bring
to your organization, and foster in your team.
I look forward to talking with you in greater detail about how I can
be of service to you, and more importantly, to those whom you serve.
Sincerely,
Ross A. Raney
