Responsible for the supervision of 40 hourly team members in a
fast-paced production based metal fabrication plant.
Directly responsible for hourly employee hiring, training, retention
and termination. Responsible for two departmental budgets with 15
sub-accounts.
Responsible for all employee safety as Willo Safety Team Co-Leader,
employee cross-training, implemented workplace standardization at
every level through out the plant, implemented a plant wide 5-S
initiative.
Eliminated 85% of overtime by conducting a current state and future
state value stream map and eliminating all non-value added steps and
processes. Conducted a kaizen event with purchasing to end a
reoccurring year end inventory loss of raw materials that save the
company approximately $85,000.00
4/2008-3/2009 True Temper Sports Inc. Amory, Ms
Production Supervisor/Continuous Improvement
Responsible for the supervision of up to 175 United Steel Workers in a
steel tubing processing facility that held over 80% of the market
share in the products they produce.
Directly responsible for the creation of "cells" in various
departments that eliminated up to 42% of handling and non-valued added
processes. Outsourced several products for annealing that captures
over $150,000 annually in cost savings since my arrival. Scrap was
reduced by 7.5%
Eliminated virtually all overtime by the usage of master scheduling,
SPC and SOP controls, standardized work and the creation a pull system
Responsible for all skilled maintenance technicians, annealing,
polishing, copper plating, chrome plating, quality technicians,
inspection, straightening, tapering, time and attendance of
associates, swaging and shipping /receiving while on my shift. Also
implemented numerous quality checkpoints through out the manufacturing
process plant wide that eliminated waste from the work in process.
7/2007-4/2008 The Gates Rubber Company Red Bay, Al
TPM Subject Matter Expert/Lean Resource Associate
Job duties consisted of implementing the Lean disciplines of total
preventative maintenance (SME), value stream mapping, quick change
over, continuous improvement, inventory management, standardized work,
error proofing, and process problem solving.
Set and regularly monitored equipment standards, conducted kaizen
events, pit events, led several green belt cost saving projects,
improved equipment access, set up and conducted preventative and
automated maintenance audits and checks. Tracked machine uptime,
overall equipment effectiveness, downtime, mean time before failure
and mean time to repair.
Member of the Waste Reduction Team, Quick-Changeover Team and
Leader/Certified trainer of the Certified Associate Training Team. I
also regularly led various team meetings and training sessions with
every associate in the Red Bay facility.
1/2004-7/2007 The Gates Rubber Company Red Bay, Al
Co-Leader/Mill room Operator
Conducted shift meetings with each (3) shift bi-weekly, conducted
continuous improvement projects/audits, utilized breaks and lunches to
increase shift efficiencies and maintained the visuals and statics of
up to 20 traceable matrixes on the Department Team Board.
Reduced scrap, defects and associated costs by 15% through the
implementation of retraining and recycling programs. Reduce overtime
by 12% through work process standardization.
As operator, ran production of coiled rolls of natural rubbers;
synthetic rubbers, epdm, nitriles and neoprene on a three roll
mill/calendar. Ran raw material production on a screw-type heated
extruder that fed the calendar. Secured and transported full width
rolls of stock via forklift. Forklift licensed until 6/2009.

Maintained all open and closed cases for the Foreign Counter
Intelligence Squad.
Handled all paper and computer files relating to the assigned cases.
Member of the Evidence Response Team and held government TOP-SECRET

1996/2001-2002 The University of North Alabama Florence, Al
Business Management/Accounting major
Took core and major specific classes while enrolled. Also attended
Northwest Shoals Community College in 1996 with a pre-law major. Left
college for employment with the FBI in 1997. Returned to UNA in 2001
after leaving the FBI. I do have the goal to finish my bachelor's
degree in the near future; however my major will change to Operations
Management.
