Manage inventory control through cycle counts, biannual physical

inventories, and write-offs. These write-offs were charged to franchise

accounts instead of site scrap. Provide system security for MANMAN for

Greenville Site. Maintain MANMAN Bills Of Materials (BOM) and add new

Bills as needed. Ensure FGS (Finished Goods System), VLMS (Vehicle Load

Management System),

and MANMAN continuity. Investigate and rectify all variances. Work with

vendors to disposition all defective materials, including removal from site

and entering returns for credit in system. Coordinate and maintain accuracy

of material movements between off-site warehouse and plant.

Reduced materials inventory by $400k.

Lowered rework inventories from $125k to <$4k.

Provided and analyzed capacity and utilization models to support new

School Board Member 1994-1999

Set system policies. Approved personnel decisions. Heard appeals of

grievances. Approved system budget. Approved strategic plan. Provided

for public hearings and response to public imput. Maintained

Public/Media relations. Chairman of Finance Committee.

In 1994, Albany, GA was flooded by tropical storm Alberto. 30,000 people

were made homeless. 4 schools were damaged beyond repair. None of the

schools could be rebuilt due to their location within the flood plain. As

Finance chairman, it was my job to work with the Asst. Superintendent for

Business Affairs to ensure that we met all federal regulations and

guidelines. Also,

we worked together to publish the Request For Quote (RFQ) for Project

Management of building 3 new schools and upgrading 5 more.

To manage a project of this scope, I implemented a monthly review of

expenditures. This process called for review of actual costs against

planned expenses and discussion of variances. Learnings were identified and

captured for future application. Current month and next month were reviewed

and changes approved as needed. After initial resistance, this process was

embraced by all involved... feedback was that individuals felt more

involved and their efforts were recognized.
