. Performed financial and budgetary analyses for contract support
Photovoltaic Test Engineer, 12/2005 -
1/2009
Advent Solar, Albuquerque, NM
. Provided primary test and manufacturing engineering support and
development for a LabVIEW based power (light I-V testing)
characterization tool
. Worked with vendors to ensure tool and incoming material acceptance
. Performed R&D quality audits and product failure using various laboratory
tools including oscilloscopes, volt/ohm meters, 4 point probes,
profilometers, integrating sphere quantum efficiency (EQE, IQE) devices
(in house and SNL), SunsVoc/lifetime testing (Sinton), reflectometers,
optical microscopes (no SEM, x-y measurement tables, as well as FLIR and
photoluminescent cameras.
. Conducted analytical chemistry to drive gridline electroplating
development using copper, nickel, and tin chemistries using standard
laboratory equipment, an x-ray fluorescent machine, a hull cell
apparatus, a u-v/vis spectrophotometer, and an atomic absorption gas
analyzer. This included chemical lifetime testing and analysis.
. Interviewed, trained, and mentored technicians and operators
. Characterized and monitored cell performance with standard and more
advanced figures of merit (Voc, Isc, Efficiency, Max Power at 1 sun,
series resistance, shunt resistance, and reverse bias saturation current)
. Created algorithms and developed applications to automate and optimize
binning procedures, saving $25k/year
. Developed software in C++ and Visual Basic .NET to provide binning and
product screening support
. Conducted electrical and chemical test experiments, analyses, and
reporting for processes and products using WinSPC
. Defined, setup, and analyzed production and process control variables
with Axapta, WinSPC, and WipTRAC.
. Designed, built, and troubleshoot test apparatuses.
. Performed some additional work during earlier stages in cell line
fabrication with wet chemistry, laser drilling, contact screen printing,
curing/drying, diffusion, and CVD.
Engineer Intern, 5/2005 -
12/2005
Advent Solar, Albuquerque, NM
. Created cell designs using AutoCAD. Conducted design reviews and managed
screen revisions.
. Rotated through learning various phases of a start-up's operation in
areas of wafer kitting, laser drill processing, wet etch chemistry,
screen printing (contact printing), POCl3 diffusion furnace processing,
PECVD silicon nitride processing, metrology/characterization I-V testing,
electrical device modeling, AutoCAD drafting, and MES data mining.
Laboratory Assistant, 1/2005 -
6/2005
University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM
. Assisted set-up and run of high-energy plasma laboratory experiments
. Performed inventory, data collection, and miscellaneous support tasks
. Reduced inventory processing time by programming a more efficient
inventory application
. Machined components necessary to perform tests.
Technical Support Supervisor, 12/1999
- 4/2004
Clientlogic, Albuquerque, NM
. Performed quality assurance managerial functions within a high technology
customer contact center.
. Used statistical models (Erlang C) to assist in managing call queue
(SAP).
. Developed HTML and JavaScript web based software as development aids and
agent resources.
. Interviewed, sanctioned, mentored, promoted, and dismissed agents.
. Managed 12 to 20 technicians at any given time as a floor supervisor
. Developed training and curriculum for technical campaigns
. Acted as local SME for consumer electronics, computer hardware and
software, and dial-up/high speed network support.
Technical Writing/Statistical Data Analysis, 8/1999
- 1/2000
TRC Staffing, Albuquerque, NM
