Photovoltaic Test Engineer, 12/2005 -

. Provided primary test and manufacturing engineering support and

development for a LabVIEW based power (light I-V testing)

characterization tool

. Worked with vendors to ensure tool and incoming material acceptance

. Performed R&D quality audits and product failure using various laboratory

tools including oscilloscopes, volt/ohm meters, 4 point probes,

profilometers, integrating sphere quantum efficiency (EQE, IQE) devices

(in house and SNL), SunsVoc/lifetime testing (Sinton), reflectometers,

optical microscopes (no SEM, x-y measurement tables, as well as FLIR and

photoluminescent cameras.

. Conducted analytical chemistry to drive gridline electroplating

development using copper, nickel, and tin chemistries using standard

laboratory equipment, an x-ray fluorescent machine, a hull cell

apparatus, a u-v/vis spectrophotometer, and an atomic absorption gas

analyzer. This included chemical lifetime testing and analysis.

. Interviewed, trained, and mentored technicians and operators

. Characterized and monitored cell performance with standard and more

advanced figures of merit (Voc, Isc, Efficiency, Max Power at 1 sun,

series resistance, shunt resistance, and reverse bias saturation current)

. Created algorithms and developed applications to automate and optimize

binning procedures, saving $25k/year

. Developed software in C++ and Visual Basic .NET to provide binning and

product screening support

. Conducted electrical and chemical test experiments, analyses, and

reporting for processes and products using WinSPC

. Defined, setup, and analyzed production and process control variables

with Axapta, WinSPC, and WipTRAC.

. Designed, built, and troubleshoot test apparatuses.

fabrication with wet chemistry, laser drilling, contact screen printing,
