metal connecting rods for automotive engine programs. Duties included the
direct communication and interaction with customers in the automotive
industry utilizing QS-9000 procedures, as well as, the selection and
procurement of the equipment necessary to manufacture connecting rods.
Accomplishments include the successful launch of a $9 million manufacturing
project for the International-Navistar 7.3L diesel connecting rod program,
the development and integration an automated packaging cell utilizing a
Fanuc M710I-track mounted robot, and the implementation of a CNC machining
process for connecting rods.
Controls Engineer (07/98-01/00): Developed new, and improved existing
control systems for Compacting, Sintering, Forging and Finishing processes
in the manufacture of powdered metal connecting rods for the automotive
industry. Accomplishments include: The development and implementation of
$2 million material handling automation project in the Forging area that
resulted in a 30% increase of productivity per production line, the
revision of Sintering atmosphere controls to provide a safer work
environment, as well as the design and implementation of a ControlNet
network for the Forging and Finishing areas. Responsibilities include the
design, layout, documentation of control systems and panels, and the
integration of Allen-Bradley PLC-5 ControlNet and Fanuc R-J2 and R-J3
control systems.
Maintenance Manager (05/96-07/98): Developed and implemented
Preventive/Predictive Maintenance Program to be consistent with the
requirements of QS-9000 and the Ford Excellence Award for Preventive
Maintenance with minimal equipment downtime required. Managed the
installation of various industrial equipment, continuous improvement
activities, and normal equipment repairs within budgetary constraints.

plan to ensure a 100% cross-trained staff within (5) years.
Maintenance Team Leader (08/94-05/96): Developed and installed control
circuits for various mechanical presses, robotics systems, grinding and
finishing equipment, and material handling systems. Developed and
implemented improved programming schemes for existing programmable
controllers. Trained new maintenance personnel and provided technical
