Technologies and Alpharma LLC.
Director of Benefits, Bristol, TN (2006-current)
Designed, implemented and managed all areas of domestic benefit programs,
including Canadian and Puerto Rico benefit programs. Managed a staff of up
to six and a budget of $53 million for benefits and $150 million in
retirement plan assets.
Was an integral member of team which designed benefit programs and drove
transition/integration of benefit programs of all subsidiaries and parent
company, contributing to vendor selection and administration outsourcing.
Provided program philosophy and legacy plan knowledge. All programs were
successfully implemented on schedule. Key contributor in the selection and
transition of the Pension Plan for 2,200 participants and defined benefit
plan, including plan knowledge transfer.
Developed strategy, drove design, and administered domestic benefit
programs, including defined contribution plan (3500 participants), health
and welfare plans (5600 participants), retiree medical plan (100
participants), Deferred Compensation Plan (250 participants) and Non-
Employee Director Deferred Compensation Plan (9 participants). Responsible
for Canadian Group Registered Retirement Plan (RRSP) and Deferred Profit
Sharing Plan (DPSP) and Puerto Rico 1165E Retirement Savings Plan and
benefit program administration as well as general benefit program
oversight.

contractual benefit and deferred compensation plan administration leader,
including IRC Section 409A and 280G compliance and participation in proxy
disclosure of executive programs.
. Primary benefits lead on Merger and Acquisition activity, including due
diligence, benefit gap analysis, change in control benefit payment
analysis/issuance, benefit program spinoff including transition services
agreement responsibility.
. Drove corrective defined contribution Voluntary Correction Program
filings and participant account corrections resulting from vendor
administration errors in conjunction with plan counsel and vendor.
. Spearheaded vendor/carrier transition, insourcing of Health and Welfare
administration to ADP including customized self-service health and
welfare tools, implementation of Preferred Provider Organization/High
Deductible Health Plan/Health Reimbursement Account, and Rx program.
Plan administration and vendor change yielded significant cost savings.
. Led Retirement Medical Plan strategy, administration and consolidation,
including Retiree Drug Subsidy administration.
. Health and Welfare automation of all domestic U.S. plans. Designed and
implemented ADP internal enrollment tool. Administrative changes
resulted in improved participant satisfaction and reporting capabilities.
. Responsible for internal HR call center. Developed a help tool guide for
ADP Employee Benefits Solution Service team to help manage call volume
and increase overall employee satisfaction.
. Implemented ADP Payroll/HRIS and Kronos Time Management Systems to
consolidate and enhance system performance and developed and designed all
SQR's to outside vendors and carriers.
