Release Management Advisor 2006 - 2008
Released production code into telecom environments, performed SOX
compliance administration (SME) and developed and maintained Configuration
Management scripts.
Lead Programmer / Analyst 1998 - 2006
Developed, enhanced and maintained Pega application for claims processing
activities. Pega provides an interface between a midrange Unix server,
where the Pega app resides, and the mainframe, where the claim data
resides, via MQ/Series. Also COBOL and Easytrieve programs were developed
to extract claim data (VSAM) from the mainframe, then translated and
formatted and then loaded to the Unix Oracle database where the claims are
then accessible to the claims processor for adjudication. Developed and
maintained Intervoice IVR applications which interfaced with the mainframe
via MQ/Series.
. Developed, enhanced and maintained Pega interface applications (COBOL)
for mainframe Pended Claims Processing using the following technologies:
COBOL, Easytrieve Plus, JCL, SyncSort, IDCAMS, MQ/Series, PegaConnect,
Shell Script, Unix, SQL, and PL/SQL software, which improved agent claims
processing time by 30%.
. Received recognition from IT Management for leading effort to upgrade
Pega to the next release resulting in significant savings to the company.
. Collaborated and facilitated swat calls with other IT professionals
(specialists in their field) when system outages occurred, quickly
identifying root cause and assigning its correction to the appropriate
specialist(s).
. Created comprehensive project plans. Collaborated with team members and
business users in completing project, testing and documentation on
schedule.
. Developed, enhanced and maintained Intervoice IVR applications for
regular and State of Georgia business using the following technologies:
Intervoice Invision, SQL and MQ/Series software, which significantly
improved IVR's accuracy, reliability and completion rates.
. Received recognition from IT Management for providing IVR programming
support to an associate in another department, on own time, resulting in
project delivery on schedule.
. Prepared well documented user and technical requirements documents to
ensure project was delivered as expected by the business user.
Sr. Programmer / Analyst 1996 - 1998
Developed, enhanced and maintained Enterprise Data Warehouse load
activities. Sourcing, transformation and target documents were prepared;
COBOL programs were developed to extract and transform; and Oracle jobs
were created to load the Oracle Enterprise Data Warehouse.
. Prepared well documented sourcing, transformation and target documents to
ensure all mainframe fields were identified, all transformations and
conversions processes were developed and finally, all columns in the
warehouse tables were populated correctly as expected by the data model
and the business user.
. Developed, enhanced and maintained COBOL extraction programs that pulled
numerous mainframe (VSAM) files for source fields outlined by the
approved sourcing document.
. Developed, enhanced and maintained COBOL transformation programs that
include complex business logic necessary to convert source fields to the
desired target fields as outlined by the approved transformation
document.
. Developed, enhanced and maintained Oracle SQL*Loader control statements
and other database jobs used to load atomic level data to the data
warehouse.
. Created comprehensive project plans. Collaborated with team members and
business users in completing project, testing and documentation on
schedule.

Programmer / Analyst 1994 - 1996
Developed, enhanced and maintained the Enrollment Reporting Database (DB2)
activities. COBOL programs were developed to extract legacy enrollment
data (VSAM) from the mainframe, then translated, formatted and loaded to
the DB2 enrollment database. COBOL extract programs were also written to
allow daily, weekly and monthly reporting to be generated.
. Prepared well documented sourcing, transformation and target documents to
ensure all mainframe fields were identified, all transformations and
conversions processes were developed
and finally, all columns in the warehouse tables were populated correctly
as expected by the data model and the business user.
. Developed, enhanced and maintained COBOL extraction programs that pulled
numerous mainframe (VSAM) files for source fields outlined by the
approved sourcing document.
. Developed, enhanced and maintained COBOL transformation programs that
include complex business logic necessary to convert source fields to the
desired target fields as outlined by the approved transformation
document.
. Developed, enhanced and maintained both DB2 Load Utility control
statements and other database jobs used to load the Enrollment Reporting
Database. COBOL programs, with embedded DB2 commands, were also developed
and maintained to update the enrollment database periodically.
. Developed, enhanced and maintained COBOL extract programs used for
reporting purposes. COBOL reporting programs were developed for
generating daily, weekly and monthly reporting.
. Created comprehensive project plans. Collaborated with team members and
business users in completing project, testing and documentation on
