SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

Completing a 21 year naval career in May 2011. Background is in ship and submarine repair. Nuclear and steam propulsion repair experience. QA/NDT supervisor. Finishing my naval career as the NAVSEA Level III Examiner of the Navy’s Nondestructive Testing School.

Management: Directed manufacturing and repair efforts of 70-person team as acting Department Manager. Devised and implemented operational controls and mediated with contractors to maximize process effectiveness.

Training: Level III Examiner for Navy’s NDT School in Great Lakes, Il. (2009-Present) Led training program for staff of 40 Level III Examiners through-out the world. Maintained and conducted training, setting standards for on job requirements and individual expertise. Acted as the Director of the United States Navy’s Nondestructive Testing School (2008-2009).

Quality Assurance: Oversaw the material procurement, inspection, manufacture, and installation of precision equipment, piping, and propulsion systems. Initialized process controls for production, including assembly-line, and “Team” techniques focusing on worker safety and time/management principles to ensure 100% product technical accuracy with zero mishaps with either personnel or material. Safety: Organized and managed department safety program. Performed facility safety inspections and revised and implemented lockout/tag-out program. Increasing overall hazard awareness. To include hazardous materials and radiation safety, resulting in zero safety mishaps during 3-year tenure in an industrial environment.
