include IT Compliance, Online Security, Security Operations, Access

limitations in the past the IT environment had numerous security gaps
and challenges. It was my role to identify and prioritize those gaps

Security solutions including Security Operations Center, Data Loss
Prevention, Identity Management, Intrusion Detection and Intrusion
Prevention Systems, Host Intrusion Prevention Systems, Network Access

getting Sr. Leadership approval for additional headcount during a time
of staff reductions. This allowed an annual savings to the company of
over $500,000 by bringing in house critical skill sets that were being
outsourced. Also allowed greater visibility into security exposures
by bringing critical assessments to systems that had not been
previously tested due to budget constraints.
. Created compelling business cases to present to Sr. Leadership to gain
support for new security initiatives in an environment of limited
resources and numerous competing proposals. Overall budget was over
$15 million for base budget and projects.
. Forged strategic partnerships with key business units including legal,
human resources, loss prevention, ecommerce, and facility management
that enabled unprecedented levels of cooperation and collaboration
towards accomplishing key initiatives. Collaborative approach allowed
leveraging of resources, research, findings, and tools to bring
greater efficiency and simplicity to the environment.
. Took leadership imitative and forged an enterprise class business
continuity planning department. We lead a company campaign to update
and modernize tools, processes, plans and awareness, lowering our
overall risk exposure to disruptions to the primary income streams.
. Created numerous corporate awareness campaigns including computer
based training, online brochures, regular security bulletins, and
annual policy acknowledgements. These initiatives were recognized by
Sr. Leadership for raising awareness and reducing costs associated
with down time & remediation for infected devices.
. Drove accountability and results for key measurables such as wireless
security, threat escalation and response, encryption standards, access
control & identity management, software life cycle development,
vulnerability & remediation management at all layers, file integrity,
eDiscovery & forensics, firewall standards, penetration tests, and web
filtering. Efforts and accomplishments in these areas were praised by
the CIO and other key stakeholders.
