consumer goods company with full business operations in 70 countries in all
regions of the globe. Responsible for all aspects of the technology
infrastructure supporting Herbalife's internal business operations and for
enabling the business for more than 1.9 million Herbalife Distributors
worldwide. Ultimate responsibility and accountability for all aspects of IT
including global and regional data centers; high volume call centers; 24X7
help desk support; global data network, telecommunications; software
development; ERP integration and implementation; database and system
administration; internet based consumer e-commerce; data and systems
security; SOX and audit compliance. Heavy emphasis on eliminating risk,
reducing costs, elevating the skill set and capabilities of the IT

Accomplishments:
. Completely restructured and upgraded the IT organization by rebuilding
the IT management team, reorganizing the IT group and deploying best
practice procedures, methodologies, tools and techniques to insure that
all critical business activity throughout the globe received consistent,

. Developed and presented for Executive Committee approval a strategy for
migrating the company from an aging, highly customized, de-supported
proprietary HP3000 system to an Oracle 11i E-business suite/HP Superdome
platform. The $54 million, 18 month program was approved and successfully
implemented on-time and on budget in 70 countries.
. Created a new set of detailed financial budgeting reporting and controls
to improve the management of the $100 M IT expense budget and $70 M IT
capital budget.
. Developed and presented for Executive Committee approval a strategy for
re-architecting and designing an internet platform to provide 1.9 million
distributors with on-line ability to manage their independent business
including order management, downline management and recruiting.
. Re-designed and upgraded high volume call center technology including
PBX, IVR and on-line order processing and call center failover to support
monthly order volume of 600,000 orders per month.
. Created a Program Management Office (PMO) organization and successfully
implemented over 150 projects of $50k to $5M all on time and on budget.
. Designed and implemented a global IT Operating model that provided
application and infrastructure support to the worldwide business 24X7

system administration; e-commerce; security; full IT support of 20
engineering design centers spread throughout North America, EMEA, and APAC;
full IT support of high tech manufacturing facilities in Singapore,
Bangkok, and Orlando. Critical emphasis on avoiding risk, reducing costs,
and aligning IT investment with overall business strategy and goals.
Accomplishments:
. Reduced the annual IT expense budget from $120 million to $77 million,
reduced headcount from 325 to 205 while retaining key investment in new
infrastructure and application technology that allowed the organization
to reduce costs through standardizing, streamlining processes,
consolidating tools and applications, and strategically outsourcing.
. Developed and presented for Executive Committee approval a strategy for
migrating the company from an aging, highly customized, de-supported
Oracle 10.7 ERP system to the 11i E-business suite. The $32 million, 15
month program was approved and successfully implemented on-time and $2.5
million under budget.
. Developed and successfully presented for Executive Committee approval a
strategy to dramatically increase design engineering productivity by
shortening integrated circuit design simulation ques and cycles and
improving the quality of both physical and software design deliverables.
The $7 million, 12 month successful on-time project included redesign and
upgrades to compute farms, back-end NAS storage, load balancing tools and
back up management.
. Developed and successfully presented for Executive Committee approval a
strategy to consolidate 21 data centers in North America, APAC, and EMEA
into three consolidated data center hubs. The first phase, a $2 million
dollar, twelve month project consolidated seven data centers in North
America into one data center hub in Allentown, PA.

Accomplishments:
. Developed a strategy for migrating the organization from an aging Unisys
mainframe proprietary platform to a UNIX server-based, open standards
Oracle 11i E-Business suite platform integrated with a travel industry
packaging, booking and selling application.
. Led the end-to-end solution architecture design effort which included new
hardware, application software (ERP/CRM), database software, development
tools, storage, monitoring, security, portal, Business Intelligence, and
content management.
. Directed the process for evaluating and selecting the system integrators,
software and hardware technology vendors for the $30 million system

. Built an 80 person global applications support and development group from
the ground up in parallel with the implementation of the Oracle ERP
solution.
. Directed the process of building the infrastructure and procedures to
provide EMC's global operations 24X7 support, including development,
configuration, DBA, Storage Management and Unix administration.
. Led the process of integrating the new ERP model into the business
operations and EMC IT operating environment.
. Played a leadership role in turning around the delayed initial attempt at
