• Group leader in the Child Care Department
• I work before and after school care. I work summer and holiday camp. I work in the
child care program in the YMCA facility. I work in the kids’ corner (3 months-5
years) and youth center (6-12 years). I oversee that children get signed in and out. I
play with the children. I make sure that no one fights or gets hurt. If someone does
get hurt I take care of them. I pass out snacks and help keep the facility clean. I come
up with activities and games for the children.
• I have knowledge of the different age development and functioning through my
classes and hands on experience. I have the ability to fill out accident and behavior
incident forms. I am certified in First-aid and CPR. I attend Department of Human
Service (DHS) training hours. I know how to intervene in a problem, by use problem
solving skills and diffusing a situation.

• Y-CAP (YMCA Community Action Program) Program Assistant.
• I worked on monthly client reports and handled monthly administrative checks. I
created postcard reminders, design monthly calendar, and made a monthly newsletter.
I made phone calls to families and schools. I documented calls and visits. I help
facilitate the tutor sessions and value lessons. I bought art supplies and kept the art
closet stocked. I kept the students folders up to date. I handled and filed student
referrals, goals, and progress. As well as manage the volunteers.

Microsoft office, Illustrator, copy and mailing. I had to be organized. I had to have
interpersonal skills. I had to have the ability to work with children and adults. I used

• Help facilitate nursing home transitions. I work with advocacy groups and attend
meetings and actions. I work with their consumer database. I file important information
about the consumers. I work with fundraising. I help clients find and apply to housing. I
also help clients set goals and accomplish their goals. I oversee a peer support group.

laws. I use interpersonal skills and interview skills. I use organizational skills. I use basic

• I taught elementary children literacy through diverse approaches. These children were
below grade level, especially in reading and writing.
• I had to be a self-starter. I used my ability to work with children and teach them. I had to
be flexible, timely and organized. I had to be creative to come up with ways to interact
and keep the student’s attention and ability to make literacy fun and interesting.

• I helped create a new filing system. I made sure the files had all the information and
paper work needed. I made sure the files were organized.
• I made phone calls to potential foster parents. If the potential parents qualified I would
start the intake process and documentation.
• I attended foster parent meetings where I was able to interact the foster parents and
children.
• I setup and attended all information fairs. At the fairs I ran a booth providing information
about AGAPE and their services.
