establish safety programs and procedures which also included performing safety audits, root

cause analysis and r isk assessments (PRA’s & PHA’s) at the assigned facilities and at other

facilities not directly in the scope of my responsibility. Provide leadership to the site Safety

Commit tee.

Including, but not limi ted to, air permit requirements, RCRA management of chemicals

and baghouse dust, containment and spill prevention.

Conduct, organize and provide t raining for all aspects of the facility, including

Keokuk Steel Castings /Foundry – Keokuk, IA

Manage the safety program to maintain OSHA/EPA compliance in a union environment.

E valuated and by engaging in a proactive management style was able to reduce the number of

recordable illnesses from 64 to 32 in one year’s t ime, this benefited the company by lowering

t he workers compensation insurance premium costs by 300K.

Selected Contributions:

This facility tended to be heavy on the industrial hygiene issues, so testing and

management of PPE was a primary focus of the position.

Implemented a proactive safety program that has reduced recordable injur ies by 77% in

t he 2005 and 2006 years. Lowered workers compensation losses from 356K to 127K in 2

years.

Extensively managed the Title V program to maintain compliance with state

requirements. Over 100 emission units.

Manager of Production 2004-2005

Oversaw the production and shipping of essential aromatherapy oils. Activities included: the

d irect report of personnel in production - depending on the season and demand of product f low;

testing bottle filling equipment to maximize production levels and scheduling.

i ntensive, warehousing/shipping, R & D, sales and its own tool and die department.

Heavy emphasis towards Lean Manufacturing and using tools to focus on areas of

ergonomic concern.

Environmental responsibilities of Title V requirements and sampling of waste water

being sent to the local municipality.

T he Scotts Company – Ft. Madison, IA

Sole responsibility was to manage the hazardous waste storage in compliance with RCRA,

D OT, CERCLA and TSCA regulations. Day-to-day activities included: profile analysis with

various types of lab equipment (HPLC and an AA extensively); storage designation of waste

s treams; loading of hazardous accordingly to DOT restrictions; maintain NPDES permits and

documentation; and assisted EH &S Manager in investigations and OSHA required inspections .

applications such as confined space entry and CO2 monitoring.
