Experience
MECHANICAL ENGINEER, TECHNOLOGY SITE PLANNERS, PLAIN CITY OH, 2008-2010
Secured contracts for new work worth $500K in revenue. Served as project
manager, guiding projects from proposal through design, construction, and
close out, Designed HVAC and plumbing systems for mission critical
facilities of varying scope from small telecom closets to large call
centers to entire data center facilities. Provided ongoing engineering
assistance during project construction to respond to contractor and owner
questions, and to address potentially problematic field conditions.
Performed commissioning services for detailed system acceptance testing and
LEED credit requirements.
PROJECT LEAD, WD PARTNERS, DUBLIN OH, 2005-2008
Oversaw, coordinated, and checked the production work of several engineers
across several offices. Coordinated schedules and deliverables with the
client. Trained and mentored engineers across offices. Managed annual
maintenance program for major retail client. Designed HVAC systems and
prepared construction documents for a wide variety of clients, including
retail, petroleum/c-store, restaurant, and grocery. Performed field surveys
to evaluate existing conditions, trouble-shoot complications during
construction, and perform punch list walk-throughs.
MECHANICAL ENGINEER, KORDA/NEMETH ENGINEERING, COLUMBUS OH, 2002-2004
Designed efficient and economical HVAC systems for new and existing
buildings. This was accomplished by performing a heating and cooling load
analysis as well as a building energy analysis to determine the needs of
the building. Evaluated which type of system would best meet the needs of
the building and the client. Selected and specified system components.
Prepared schematics of system design. Performed site visits to evaluate
existing conditions and to monitor construction. Processed shop drawings.
Created punch lists. Expedited permits.
CO-OP ENGINEERING ASSOCIATE, ARINC, OKLAHOMA CITY OK, 2000-2002
Performed a precision and accuracy study of Boeing's MAUS IV eddy current
NDI scanner and conducted a probe characterization study in which the
frequency response of individual eddy current probes was measured and
analyzed. Used this system to quantitatively measure corrosion and to study
corrosion growth rates in 2024-T3 aluminum. Updated technical drawings of
the flap-slat/power drive unit assembly for the B1-Bomber to include new
specifications and standards and to allow for alternative manufacturing
processes. Updated T.O. 15X-1-1, a technical order describing the
maintenance and care of liquid oxygen equipment for use on military
aircraft. Studied the painting system used to coat liquid oxygen converters
and assisted implementation of recommendations that led to improved product
quality and reduced service time. Benchmarked commercial and government
aircraft fleet maintenance schedules, and developed an alternative
maintenance program for the E-3 AWACS fleet.
ENGINEERING INTERN, OKLAHOMA COUNTY ENGINEERING DEPT., OKLAHOMA CITY OK,
1999-2000
Surveyed road sections using a GPS. Wrote a technical manual for using the
GPS system and its software. Drafted, updated, scaled, and corrected local
maps and maps from the U.S. Census Department, as well as the Federal
Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) floodplain maps. Compiled a database
of bridge and road inspection data, and a database of all road construction
projects within the county since statehood.
