Worked in a team to manufacture pesticides through third party manufacturing
companies (tollers). Functioned as the primary contact with tollers. Facilitated
production scheduling and was responsible for inventory. Routinely traveled to
tolling facilities to provide technical assistance for: new product introduction,
formulation issues or any routine issues that may arise. Performed manufacturing
audits to insure safe and effective manufacturing and quality practices were
employed. Performed physical counts and reconciled for routine cycle counts as
well as end of year inventories.
Schedule compliance improved from 70% to 100% comparing same time period of 2010
to 2009.
Facilitated in start up of new tolling facility.
Palm International 2005 to 2009
Production Manager/ Engineer
Lead the production department to achieve more than $ 1.5 million dollars in
efficiency improvements and reduction of labor while, during the same time period
added new product to the manufacturing facility. The facility utilizes batch
operations to produce solutions of nickel sulfates, chlorides and sulfamates.
These solutions are used in electroplating industries. Custom blend operations
produced a variety of product on a tolling arrangement with customers.
Design powder handling system that allowed the use of super sacks to replace tote
feed system resulting in an annual cost reduction of $ 300,000 per year.
Designed a feed system that allowed the addition of antioxidant to Bio-Diesel
tankers. This new business added over $ 720,000 to the gross profit for the
facility.
Reduced department from 11 to 7 operator positions for a labor savings of $
187,000 dollars.

Erachem Comilog Inc. 1998 to 2005
Production Manager
Production department set record of 3 years with no lost time incidents. Lead
labor efficiency gains resulting in savings of $ 750,000 annually. Gave technical
support to corporate marketing in landing Duracell account which helped keep all
the plant's production capacity sold out (~ $6.2 million). Handled all union
issues through second step grievance. The manufacturing facility receives raw
manganese ore and refines it to a high quality grade of battery active manganese
dioxide. The facility utilizes a variety of processes including: ore sizing
technologies, continuous stir tank reactors, solid/liquid filtration (drum, belt
and plat-frame), chemical reduction furnaces and air pollution control equipment.
Designed and implemented an operator certification and training program for
chemical operators. Programs incorporated cross train aspects of operations to
improve operational flexibility and capability.
Implemented a "customer" ready housekeeping program which established standards,
training and audit program to ensure plant was always in good condition for visit
of customer.
Erachem Comilog Inc. 1994 to 1998
Manager of Process and Environmental Technology
Guided the technology efforts in support of Erachem's electrolytic manganese
dioxide plant. Recruited 2 engineers and IT professional to provide technical
support for process improvement and environmental compliance. Review and work
with corporate R & D departments to ensure good result to plant. Provide technical
support for primary customers.
Improved efficiencies in heavy metals precipitation which resulted in a high
cobalt concentrated filter cake. The material is now providing an excess of $
500,000 annually.
