VALASSIS COMMUNICATIONS, INC., Livonia, Michigan 2008 - current
Director, Digital Media Product Management
Managing the digital marketing product management team which are
responsible for defining and delivering new product features according to
the Agile methodology. Also, responsible for customer support,
organizational change management, and the technical team that maintains our
internet properties: www.RedPlum.com and www.Save.com. As the product
expert, I've worked with external customers to devise creative solutions to
their needs. In this role, I regularly interact with the CTO, CIO, DBAs,
and system and network engineers.
. Established a Microsoft .Net digital media platform (application) that
allowed us to quickly configure client assets and expand interactive
functionality, as well as support the transactional volume of the
business.
. Drafted and filed US patents for innovations in interactive marketing
software. Currently, working to extend them to Europe.
. Assists with business development and client sales. Efforts resulted in
contracts with a large CPG and a several retailers. Currently working
with major retailers and CPGs in Europe.
. Implemented Ektron, a content management package, to reduce time to
publication and lowered operational costs.
. Researched and selected technologies and partnerships for delivery of
promotional advertisements to both internet and mobile consumers. These

Chief Solution Architect 2005 - 2008
Led the PeopleSoft implementation for Payroll, Billing and Receivables,
including architecture, procurement and installation of infrastructure, and
development of custom extensions. Created overall program budgets for
technical staff ($20 million per year) and infrastructure ($3-10 million
per year).
. Implemented PeopleSoft in the United Kingdom and Ireland to support
payroll for 13,000 employees per week, generating 5000 invoices per week,
and collecting Receivables from 3000 customers, as well as deployed
Accounts Receivables for the $5 billion per year North American
operation.
. Coordinated across IT departments and with various vendors to select,
procure, and implement new technologies to support the global
application. The infrastructure consisted of Oracle 10g database
implemented on multiple IBM Linux servers and the PeopleSoft integration
broker, web and application servers, as well as Microsoft BizTalk
deployed on numerous Dell blade servers.
. Worked directly with the Chief Accounting Officer, Chief Administrative
Officer, CIO, and other senior Vice-Presidents on project governance, and
to understand requirements and business process to architect a cost
effective solution. Solutions involved PeopleSoft, custom development,
third-party packages, and hosted solutions (Software as a Service).
. Managed vendor relationship with Oracle/PeopleSoft software and support,
as well as various technical consulting partners.
Business Relationship & Application Director 2004
Managed the back office application portfolio consisting of Oracle e-
Business Suite, mainframe packages, custom and hosted applications.
Established working relationship with the Chief Accounting Officer,
Controller, and department heads from Internal Audit, Treasury Legal, Human
Resources, Salaried Payroll, and Tax.
. Proposed to Chief Administrative Officer a pilot of Oracle e-Business'
employee self-service to eliminate costly printing and distribution of
internal employee payslips.
. Implemented a software package and infrastructure to aggregate, calculate
and remit federal, state, and local income taxes, reducing reserves held
with taxing authorities by more than $1 million.
. Improved team productivity by implementing analysis and testing tools,
training, and establishing standard processes and documentation.

Oversaw the development and support of an application that takes customer
orders and assigns temporary employees to jobs. The system is used by 4000
people in 2000 offices spread across North America.
