As the former Executive Director of Community Link and Lora Weiss' former
direct supervisor, I am pleased to be able to write this letter of
recommendation. I became Executive Director at Community Link in 1972 and,
after working with Lora for 7 years, I retired in June of 2008.
Lora began employment at Community Link in October of 2001 as the Human
Resource Generalist. Due to her outstanding skills and abilities, she was
named Human Resource Director in November of 2006. I was consistently
impressed by Lora's attitude toward her work and her performance on the
job. Her interpersonal and communication skills allowed her to develop
productive working relationships with both outside contacts and staff.
Lora was able to save Community Link time and money by successfully
initiating process improvements. She helped to lower the turnover rate from
35% to 19%, managed and developed better methods for recruiting and
retaining employees, developed a Volunteer program which resulted in
several commendations from United Way, and much more.
Lora is a hard worker who is very knowledgeable, punctual, reliable, and
