PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Project/Cost Engineer
- Create and maintain critical path schedules for multi-phased
Heavy/Highway/Marine construction projects using Primavera P3/Suretrak
and MSProject software.
- Update project master schedule. Create 3 week look-ahead schedules;
utilize to ensure compliance from company personnel and subcontractors.
Develop recovery strategies when necessary.
- Control expenditures with limitations of project budget. Identify and
forecast future requirements and budget concerns.
- Coordinate project personnel, equipment, and material requirements
with appropriate trade superintendent. Coordinate subcontractor
activities.
- Act as communication liaison with project owner representatives.
Monitor, verify and analyze project quantities. Submit and negotiate
pay applications with project owner representatives.
- Forecast and track potential and approved change orders and claims.
Actively enforce company safety and quality assurance policies and
procedures.
Estimator
- Participated in Hard-bid and Design- Build proposals for
Heavy/Highway/Marine projects throughout the southeastern US, primarily
in Texas and Florida.
- Cultivated business contacts and bid opportunities, attended pre-bid
meetings, acted as communication liaison between owner and contractor
during bid preparation.
- Analyzed project drawings, specifications, bid proposal and other
documents. Discussed methods of construction and risk analysis with
project team members and develop a competitive plan for each project.
- Responsible for accurate quantity takeoffs and pricing (labor,
equipment and material costs) for specific scope of work. Familiar with
HCSS, HardDollar and Timberline estimating software. Coordinate
responsibilities within estimating team.
- Prepare bid packages for subcontractors. Analyzed subcontractor
quotations and clarify scope of work issues.
- Prepare estimating schedules using P3/Suretrak and MSProject software.
- Responsible for tracking addendums, completing bid documents and review
of final pricing. Participate in any negotiations necessary following
proposal hand-in.
- Participate in turnover meetings with project management. Provide
technical support and estimates for potential change orders or claims.
- Prepare initial project schedule for turnover to field staff
- Assist in maintaining and upgrading of computerized database; analyze
field feedback on work performed.
ACHIEVEMENTS
- Monitor structural concrete quantities, production rates and cost
expenditures for pay applications and budget control on $158 Million I-
10/95 Interchange project in Jacksonville, FL
- Monitor earthwork quantities, production rates and cost expenditures
for pay applications and budget control on $100 Million Loop 1 Tollway
project in Austin, TX. Earthwork costs were within budget and schedule
for award of $2 million Early Finish Bonus.
- Assist in preparing $700 million Public-Private-Partnership, Design-
Build Concession for first segment of $26 billion IH-35 Trans-Texas
Corridor Tollway Project.
- Awarded contracts by the Texas Department of Transportation for
projects:
. IH-35 at Kyle Parkway in Hays County - $16.5 million
. IH-75 at Mockingbird Lane in Dallas County - $7.1 million
. US290 at US183 in Travis County - $6.5 million.
. IH35 at Hester's Crossing in Williamson County - $2.1 million.
- Awarded contracts by the Florida Dept. of Transportation for bridge
projects:
. US27 over US17/92 in Haines City, FL - $4.5 million.
. US17/92 over Reedy Creek in Intercession City, FL - $9 million
