General Motors Corporation - GM Global Aftersales

Responsible for strategic planning and IT development required to support

corporate strategies necessary to maintain a $2B revenue stream for GM's

Global Aftersales business unit. Managed an annual $20M development budget

and an IT organization consisting of 12-15 direct managers, each with

project managers and development teams.

Direct responsibilities included working with global business units,

including Sales and Marketing, Finance, Engineering, and Supply Chain

Distribution, to develop business strategies and business cases, develop an

IT roadmap to support the business strategies, manage a PMO to implement

and monitor corporate processes and methodologies for all IT projects,

manage a global budget, manage ongoing IT operations, communicate program

strategies and status to stakeholders and executive level management, Also,

responsible for developing and maintaining department resource plans,

including department hiring, annual objectives, and HR reviews.

Challenged to reduce high legacy costs and identify opportunities to

commonize business processes and systems within a global business

specific country or regional laws.

Effectively utilized SDP, SDLC, RAD, CMMi and ITIL as part of the software

. Developed release schedules for all dealership service applications

that aligned with vehicle launches and ongoing daily vehicle data

updates. As a result, global call centers experienced an 8% reduction

in call volume on system issues.

. Developed a dealer technician forum to provide feedback on application

usage and issues experienced while diagnosing and fixing a vehicle.

. Received GM's CIO award for the creation and use of analytic tools and

a data warehouse to create accurate and timely reports for dealers to

understand part sales status trends. As a result, some dealers

experienced 8% monthly sales growth with use of sales reports.

. Received GM CIO award for the development and timely development and

deployment of IT systems necessary to support a high priority

corporate agreements with Delphi.

. Received GM's CIO award for integrating and deploying an off the shelf

voice directed picking system into GM's warehouse management system.

Once deployed in all of GM's 21 parts distribution centers, a $10m

annual savings in structural and labor cost was realized, while part

order picking processing decreased an average of 15%.
