Managing a staff of five GIS professionals, I am responsible for directing
the City Enterprise GIS. My group of
five professionals manages our own servers, SDE geodatabase, and related
desktop computers to keep the City
supplied with the most current data infrastructure. I manage an ESRI
Enterprise Small Municipality site license,
an Azteca Cityworks Enterprise Asset Management software integrated with
the GIS, and a Pictometry Enterprise Imagery site license. Extensive
experience with ArcGIS Server/SDE/IMS/Oracle 11g database/AutoDesk

As the sole GIS Analyst, I was responsible for creating, editing, and
maintening a non-enterprise geodatabase of all District infrastructure,
including linear referencing 600 miles of raw water pipelines, adding
pipeline events, maintenance records, pump stations, well fields, watershed
data; I was responsible for obtaining and updating background raster
imagery; for improving accuracy of database by comparison with updated GPS
points; for publishing ArcReader maps and making them available to the
supervisors and field personnel; for DB queries and spatial analysis as
needed, as well as software licensing and upgrades.
7/15/02- 8/31/04 Conservation Planner I Twin Buttes Brush Control
Program, Big Lake, TX.
As an employee of the Middle Concho SWCD in Big Lake, under the direction
of the TX SWCB, I coordinated
rancher participation within the reimbursement program.I was responsible
for contract administration, initial ranch surveys, digitizing within
ArcMap 3.2, documenting brush clearing and liaison for expense
reimbursement. This
job ended with annual funding ran out, and I concentrated on running the
ranch for a time.
2/1/02 - 7/15/02 District Technician NRCS Office, Big Lake, TX.
Working as an employee of the Middle Concho SWCD, I worked within the NRCS
Big Lake office under the
direction of the District Conservationist to digitize and transfer ranch
and farm boundaries and contract information from the old aerial photo
format to a digital format within ArcMap 3.2. I transferred from this job
to the Brush
Control Program when it began.
7/1/93 - 6/31/02 Newspaper Distributor Odessa American & San Angelo
Standard Times, Big Lake, TX. Working as an independent contractor for
both newspapers I managed the newspaper deliveries and subscriptions for
the areas of Big Lake, Rankin, McCamey, & Iraan. This kept days free to
devote to the ranch.
June, 1990 - 1999 Helped Dad with the ranch as his health declined.
Took over the family ranch when he died.
May, 1998 - May, 1990 Student Pastor United Methodist Church
Water Valley, TX.
Attended Perkins Theological Seminary at SMU and attended to all
congregational functions
as a student pastor at the Water Valley UMC. The appointment ended upon
graduation.
1985 -April, 1988 Nalco Chemical Co. Big Lake, TX
Working in Big Lake out of the Midland Regional office as a Chemical
Specialist, I evaluated, sold, and serviced
oilfield chemicals for specific fields in a four county area. I had
extensive training in oilfield production fluids, fresh water analysis and
fluids treatment, with the capability of performing on-site analytical
analysis. I left to attend seminary.
1983 - 1985 Turner Brothers Oil Co. Big Lake, TX
As co- owner of a local oil jobber, we sold and serviced gas station and
drilling rigs with oil-related
products. The company folded after the oil boom went bust.
1981 - 1983 American Cyanamid Co. Littleton, CO, Big Lake, TX
As a Marketing Specialist out of the Littleton, CO office, I marketed poly-
acrylamids for waterflood mobility
control to enhanced oil recovery (EOR) projects in the Western US and
Canada. In late 1982, I was transferred to Midland to concentrate on W TX
EOR projects. I left to try my hand at running my own company.
1978 - 1981 Stephan Chemical Co. Northfield, IL
Working out of northern suburban Chicago, I marketed surfactant chemicals
for the EOR market nationwide and into Canada. The job required extensive
travel, along with coordination of company technical personnel with oil
company departments for evaluation, contract proposal, and setup on-site.
I left to pursue another opportunity in a more directed, larger EOR
chemical market.
1972 - 1978 Dow Badische Co. Williamsburg, VA, Suburban Chicago
Just out of college, I worked as Inside Sales in Williamsburg, VA hq, then
transferred to the NW Chicago suburban office; I traveled a multi-state
area selling C4 alcohols and acrylic monomers to the paint &coatings,
automotive,
and textiles markets. I received extensive training in time & territory
management, budgeting, management by objectives, and contract writing and
negotiating. I started as a salesman, reaching the position of Sales
Manager for
a $12 MM sales area before I left to pursue an opportunity in the EOR
chemicals market.
