Responsible for management of all corporate Human Resources areas,
including Recruiting and Staffing, Training and Development, benefits,
compensation, and performance management. In T & D, responsible for ground-
floor development of restructured group; design of base training curricula
for company; development and execution of training plan. 9 direct reports.
Report to VP HR.
Key accomplishments:
. Designed and rolled out new performance evaluation program nationally
for salaried exempt and nonexempt associates, 2008
. Designed and rolled out new merit process, resulting in 0 employee
complaints about fairness, etc.
. Led effort to design and roll out 2011 HSA-eligible medical plan for
100% of population; implemented innovative on-road wellness plan for
truck drivers and another for corporate employees.
. Spearheaded 2009 and 2010 total medical plan redesign and wrote the
first-ever benefits book for driver and non-driver employees; plan
design changes reduced medical claim costs $1.6m in first year.
. Implemented electronic/telephonic administration for FMLA and other
disability leave administration, outsourced leave billing
administration, improving consistency and reducing legal risk, saving,
avoiding, and recovering at least $500,000.
. Improved internal employee satisfaction metrics for HR staff customer
service in 6-mo period, from previous poor scores.
. Introduced HR metrics for the first time for all HR functional areas;
increased annual training hours per employee to 20 hours
. Reduced HR staffing by 4 in 12-mo period by process improvements
increased use of technology (attrition, non-replacement)

2006-2007. Human Resources Business Partner.
Responsible for partnering with operations unit leader for applying
specific culture and organizational changes in automotive and
commercial/consumer products operation. Strategic planning and lean
implementation in HR to support significant culture change in 30-year old,
high-seniority, 230-person nonunion steel fabrication plant. Responsible
for all areas of HR. Reported to Plant Manager and Regional Director. Left
because facility had been identified for possible closure, and I went to
Covenant.
Magna Electronics, Holly, MI group headquarters (division of Magna Corp,
81,000 employees)
2004-2006. Corporate Group Human Resources Director.
HRD for Magna Electronics Group, including 3 P & L Business Units and 1 P &
L Plant Operation and all Corporate Group functions (Finance, Sales,
Strategic Planning, Global Purchasing, Global Engineering, Program
Mgt/Quality) responsible for all HR functional areas, including Divisional
Staffing (leadership, technical professional and administrative
professional), policy development and implementation, performance
management, succession planning, compensation, benefits, employee
relations, Safety and Health, disability management, payroll. Reported
directly to Magna Donnelly HR VP and Magna Electronics NA Group Vice-
President. Left due to unstable condition of the division; relocated to
the South. 7 direct reports.
