experience on numerous multi-million dollar projects in heavy industry.

Experience: Project Engineer - AbitibiBowater, Calhoun Operations 1990-

2006

Paper Mill: Rebuilt four paper machine calendars and a bale press;

replaced reel cranes, rolls, and roll wrapping platens; installed three

refiners, showers, microscreens, doctors, medium consistency pump and

standpipe, ventilation systems, pulp press, screw conveyors, and a steam

sparger; repaired headbox and acid sewers; involved in numerous studies and

structural stability issues.

Recently completed a Specialties Refining installation that was the

largest capital project within the Bowater organization - with excellent

results.

Thermo-mechanical Pulping: Installed a stock and heat recovery

system with flash tank and screen; installed medium consistency pump system

and a post refiner.

Kraft Mill: Installed a digester pump out system, digester

steampacking and quench systems, black liquor filters, green liquor heater,

titanium scrubber, heat exchanger, and a chip rejects reclaim system;

replaced a chlorine dioxide reboiler.

Powerhouse: Removed and replaced boiler stacks; installed NOx

reduction equipment, natural gas odorant system, air compressor, and sewage

pumping stations.

Groundwood: Supervised the complete demolition of extensive 16-

grinder system.

Woodyard: Replaced knife grinders, and supervised partial site

demolition.

Recycle: Installed a pair of Wirewolf wire removal systems.

Mill General: Enclosed in a pipeline the entire 40+ MGD mill

effluent - on the run. Was the largest and longest continuous by-pass

known at the time, except for Boston's "Big Dig." Replaced or repaired

numerous roofs, pump/pipe systems, steel and tile tanks, and miles of road

construction per my design; involved with pressure grouting for structural

stability, pile driving, sheet piling, earthwork, dam stability, and

numerous infrastructure issues; installed concrete aprons, numerous

drainage features, effluent discharge flow measurement system, CO2

injection system, and a landfill lining system; designed and inspected

monorails and cranes.
