Plant Manager
Managed the manufacturing operations, warehouse, and distribution of food
for the southwestern states. Created a by-yearly budget (2+million
dollars). Monitored expenses on a weekly basis and made necessary
adjustments to meet / exceed forecast cost per hundred weight. Completed
employee evaluations and submitted pay increases to corporate. Monitored
the performance of employees (salary/wage) and made necessary adjustments.
Interviewed new employees for wage and salary position. Ensured all
employees, including Quality Assurance, complied with Federal FDA, OSHA,
and Environmental requirements. Provided product traceability for
FDA/customer inquires. Managed customer complaints. Achieved 32%

Reported to the General Manger. Led the needles operations (Drilled,
Channel, Heat treat, and Laser needles). Coordinated with the VP of
engineering the transferred of the needle operations to Brazil, Germany,
and Cornelia Georgia. Validated the Cardiovascular products (MULTIPASS,
VICRYL PLUS) using SPC and DOE. Received certification on the Six-Sigma
methodology and saved $340,000.
Global Supply Chain January 2002 to July 2003
Worked with Corporate Project Supply Chain manager on the Implementation of
Global Supply Chain Systems using cross-functional teams across plants in
the U.S. and Latin America. Managed the training of 1,200 employees on the
ECCS. Validated and implemented the JD-Edward System to comply with QSR
regulations ( to replace our old ERP and MFG/PRO system). Designed and
supported implementation of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
Ophthalmic Micro-Sutures July 1999 to January 2002
P/L responsibility for production lines 3, 4, and 5 (150) employees.
Introduced Operator Certification and eliminated Q.A. inspections.
Generated over 1 million dollars in annual savings by relocating the
Ophthalmic Micro surgical product to Texas. Redesigned the operations
using lean manufacturing, launched new package material, and implemented
SPC in product inspection. Implemented new internal product controls.

(Control Release Process, swaging, winding and foil operation) and the
implementation of the Automatic Equipment ($750,000/ machine). Led the
selection and training of new employees for the automatic equipment. Led
the validation (IQ, OQ, and PQ for automatic equipment). Managed the CSV,
21 CFR part 11, validation. Implemented SPC and performed DOEs for the
ramp up of the Automatic Equipment. Generated over 1.2 million dollars in
ROI. Managed a contract with Texas A&M University to provide solution for
our CAPA system.
Needles Senior Facilitator October 1993 to August 1994
Led the Channel Needle Operation (three shifts, 78 employees). Implemented
the Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED). Saved 2 million dollars.
International Employee July 1991 to October 1993
Reported to the plant manager and VP of engineering Managed the transfer of
the PROLENE Gentle Bend product from Texas to Puerto Rico. Led the
transfer of all materials, equipment, training, and ramp up of the new
operation. Had P/L responsibilities for 350 employees, 6 supervisor, 3
engineers, and 10 Q.A. technicians (110 million dollar franchise).
Established Kanban system in P.R. Completed the validation of the new 100
Packaging Machine. Increased product fill rate 93%. Achieved 9 million
dollars in tax avoidance.
Was promoted to Lead Process Facilitator of the COBOL Business Unit.
Managed and had P/L responsibilities for 500 employees. Developed existing
supervisors, interviewed candidates for salary positions, and managed the
production of two special orders from Japan. 7.3 million dollars sales to
Japan in 6 months.
Continuous Flow Manufacturing Team January 1990 to July 1991
Conducted process flowcharting/mapping of the PROLENE Business Unit.
Worked in a team environment to determine value added and non-value added
activities in the operation. Reduced Product cycle time from 42 days to 30
days. Trained over 400 employees in the Continuous Flow Manufacturing
concept. Performed Process Simulation to stream line the operations and
identify and remove Process Constraints.
Supervisor Drill Needle Process March 1988 to January 1990
Supervised the Drilled Needle Process (Needlemaking, Heat Treat, Static
Anode, and Siliconizing). Supervised production of 250,000 needles per
day. Flowcharted and redesigned the operation. Reduced product cycle time
from 19.5 days to 7.25 days. Introduced operator certification (reduced
Q.A. headcount) and saved over $147,000 per year.
