Commentary Inc., Production Manager April, 2006 - March, 2009 A t Commentary Magazine was

i n charge of the production and design of a monthly magazine and website. Created

advertisements, marketing materials and business graphics. Played a major role in re-designing

t he company’s website, working with editors, the web-design firm and with the service bureau.

Worked with print vendors, approved all printed materials and printer’s monthly charges.

Significantly reduced production spending by streamlining and simplifying the production process

updated the software and hardware systems, implemented standard best-practices, eliminated

wasteful material usage and cut down the eff ective time spent on production.

Harrison Scott Publications, Production Editor October, 2002 - April, 2006 A t Harrison Scott

Publications was in charge of the production of five weekly newsletters along with the

corresponding websites in a fast paced deadline driven environment. Created and implemented a

new layout-template system which eliminated errors in the daily workflow. Designed table and

chart templates, which allowed quick data-updating, vastly improving the application of changes

across the entire publishing system. Managed the daily copy-flow and proofing process by working

w ith reporters and editors. Handled all aspects of extensive advertisement workflow. Approved,

prepared and created ad materials. Prepared final print- ready files for press and checked printer’s

proofs. Updated archives and databases, prepared and posted web updates.

The Economist, Graphic Designer; Production Coordinator December, 1996 - March, 2002 A t The

Economist Intelligence Unit designed business publications newsletters, research reports and

white papers for such clients as IBM, Oracle, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deutsche Bank, KPMG

Consulting and many others. Designed marketing materials brochures, mailings and magazine

ads for entire product line, in collaboration with editors, freelance artists and web-producers.

Collaborated with international team on the development of company-wide branding system and

applied it to US publications. Created business graphics and adopted printed materials for the

web. Developed and maintained file archiving system. Before becoming a full- time staff member,

produced weekly newsletters on a freelance basis.
