Description: The MPM (Matrix Performance Management) project will provide

an integrated performance management capability in order to streamline

analysis, insight and decision-making across the organization. Listed

below are the key points in the case for change for Corporate Performance

Management teams.

* Metrics

o Various systems produce a disarray of metrics making it difficult

to determine "one version of the truth"

o Lack of system integration causes the business to spend large

amounts of time pulling together data and reconciling instead of

analyzing and making decisions

o The business needs a consistent customer view in order to boost

growth and drive customer retention

* Customer

o Corporate and vendor inability to view customer segment data

inhibits the ability to meet the customers' needs

* Trends

o Corporate business analysis and processes, focusing on point-in-

time information instead of trends, focuses attention on one day

instead of looking at longer term customer and market needs

o Business process is reactive to daily fluctuations instead of

driving proactive decisions based on market changes and trends

* Insights

o Lack of an integrated performance management process creates

differing insights and additional time and effort

* Process

o Limited access to consistent analytical data makes the budget and

forecasting processes sub-optimal

* Analytic Capability

o Ad-hoc, time intensive, and duplicate analytics provided by multiple

resources
