Qualifications
I was a self-employed farmer for seventeen (17) years and also managed several large farm
operations. I have knowledge of cultural practices in managing cotton, soybeans, wheat,
m ilo, corn and r ice. I am able to produce solid crops and t rouble shoot to maximize yields in
both i r r igated and non-i r r igated environments.
I am proficient with the mechanics of John Deere equipment and other machinery used in
farming and harvesting cotton, soybeans, corn and r ice to maximize efficiency in the field. I
a lso have experience with center pivots and fur row i r r igation.
I work well with people and am able to utilize their skills to the best interest of any
operation. Several of my former associates worked for me for seventeen (17) years. I feel
t hat my leadership and “hands-on” management techniques created a healthy, long-term
employment opportunity for my workers.
I enjoy the challenge of achieving and maintaining organizations as well as working out
logistics and long term planning. My past work experience has been a great aid in my
organizational skills and would be an asset in any industry, including agriculture.
Work H istory
Wayne Wilkinson Farms, Farm Manager
My responsibilities as farm manager were overseeing operations of 12,000 acres, FSA crop
certification, keeping crop records, implementing worker safety protection, supervising
l abor including hi ring and dismissals, etc. Other duties include contact person for farm
business such as Ritter Crop Service, Machinery L ink, Crop Consultants, Greenway
Equipment, etc.
R eed Farming Company, Manager 2006 –
2008
My responsibilities were day to day operations, crop varieties selections, FSA crop
certification, keeping crop records, implementing worker safety protection, supervising
l abor including hi ring and dismissals, bidding system for equipment and chemicals
p urchased, soil testing and variable rate fertilizer. I was in daily contact with the general
manager where we jointly made decisions that I implemented. Other duties include contact
person for farm businesses such as Jimmy Sanders, Machinery Link, Farmer’s Grain,
entomologist, Hobbs Equipment, etc. Marketing of crops was also an area that I was jointly
i nvolved. I also introduced our company to the RTK Guidance System and purchased this
system.
Grosvenor Farms, Farm Manager 2002 –
2005
I oversaw the expansion of the farm from 5500 acres to 7000 acres and supervised 8 to 13
associates including international labor. My responsibilities included installation and
operation of Auto Farm GPS systems. I was also responsible for implementation of 24 hour
post harvest field preparation schedules, daily operations of management and decision
making, associate t raining, annual farm planning and equipment maintenance and repair.
I was also responsible for the installation and operation of on-site grain storage.
Woods Farms, Owner/Operator 1983 – 2000
Owner and operator of Woods Farms for seventeen (17) years. My daily activities ranged
f rom crop certification to marketing. I worked many soils ranging from Deer Creek sand to
heavy clay. Over the years, several magazine articles have featured my techniques,
chemical and fertilizer programs and resulting yields.
T raillake Farms 1978 –
1982
I oversaw the day to day operations of Traillake’s cotton, soybean and r ice operation and
a lso managed the cotton gin where I supervised 24 hour shifts for 28 associates.
C & W Sales 1975 – 1978
I was involved in my family’s business and was responsible for on-site sales of Honda
motorcycles and automobiles.
