1. As a Supervisor for Child welfare I am in a leadership level where
I provide direct supervision to lower level Child Welfare
Specialists as well as Case Aides. As a direct supervisor I
interview and make recommendations to the County Director for
new hire child welfare services staff; maintain personnel records
and complete performance evaluations; orient new staff, perform
case reviews and develop and administer in services raining
programs; perform duties as grievance coordinator for custody
children. Have the ability to provide crisis intervention, including
making recommendations and decisions in possible life or death
situations; to gather necessary information to determine the needs
of the child; to make a caseload; to provide courtroom testimony,
terminology and procedures; to communicate effectively, both
orally and in writing to develop, evaluate and modify an
intervention plan on an ongoing basis; to establish and maintain
working relationships with others; to help families become and
remain a functional family unit; and to react promptly and
appropriately in any instance of reported or suspected child abuse
or neglect complaint.

3. In September of 2005, I took a voluntary demotion from Child
Welfare to Family Support in order to spend more time with my
family and have a more set time schedule. Job duties for this
position consisted of interviewing individuals and family
members to obtain history data; taking applications for public
assistance and/or related services; determining the eligibility of
applicants and contacting public and private health, welfare,
social and mental health agencies and related community
resources for the purpose of obtaining services for individuals and
their families.

9. While working as a generic worker in Child Welfare I carried a
case load of Permanency Planning cases, but was also responsible
for conducting investigations while on call after hours. The bulk
of my responsibilities in this position was learn treatment and
preventative services; visit children in placement as well as their
parents; refer families and children to services in the community;
complete assessments of children and families and implement
treatment plans. Additional duties include participating in
investigations of abuse and neglect of children; preparing case
records and other documentation and recommending a course of
action with close supervision and case consultation; providing
protective services and coordinating referrals to other units,
agencies, service providers and the court. Attend court hearings
and provide testimony; consults with the District Attorney and
other attorneys regarding efforts to protect the child, reunite the
family or other permanent plan for the child; provides direct
services to children in placement; attends staff meetings; makes
decisions regarding treatment plans following supervisory
consultation; provide assessments and services to custody
children to assist them in making the transition from foster care to
independent living.

10. In this capacity my job duties included screening medical
applications for the entire Family Support Unit, screening food
stamp applications for expedited services of designated days,
answering the telephone, filing and other general clerical duties.

11. While employed as a Social Work Aide my duties were to
transport children for court hearings, doctor appointments, and
family visitation. I was also responsible for supervising many
visits between children and their parents. This activity gave me
the experience that was needed later as a Child Welfare Specialist.
During this time I learned a great deal about the types of families
that Child Welfare becomes involved with and how the legal
process works in the Juvenile System. Other general duties
included filing, copying cases and assisting the clerical unit in
their every day activities.

Conservation Biologist
12. I was transferred to this field office as a Conservation Biologist
after receiving my degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State
University. Here I spent many hours working in the field either
with local landowners, or with the Conservation Technician.
While in the field I worked with land owners with their basic
Conservation Plans, Wildlife Plans, or Forestry Plans. Other
times I worked along side the Conservation Technician restoring
the wetlands back to their original state. I participated in such
activities as controlled burns, basic dike construction, overseeing
tree planting and later doing a survival count of the trees planted
the previous year. In the office I assisted clients, facilitated plans,
and assisted the District Conservationist with many programs,
including the Wetland Reserve Program, Forestry Incentive
Program, Conservation Reserve Program and the Wildlife Habitat
Incentive Program. With these programs I had the responsibility
of writing a conservation plan that explained what the individuals
objectives were on his/her land and what had been done prior to
the plan. While stationed in this office I also participated in a
Leopard Darter Study with the United States Forest Service. In
1998 I resigned this position after getting married and was unable
to transfer closer to Pauls Valley.
