Officer) 2004-2009
NDS Surgical Imaging ($85M/Yr) is a manufacturer of medical devices used in
minimally invasive endoscopic camera and robotic surgical systems in
hospital operating suites.
. The company was at a turning point and did not know how to get to the
next level. It did not have scalable infrastructure in place to support
growth, did not have a finance organization in place and lacked the
financial capital to hire the right people or expand the operations. As
executive responsible for finance, wrote an 'offering memorandum' that
resulted in a liquidity event with a private-equity firm which provided
professional contacts and the financial strength necessary to grow the
company significantly in a short period of time. Transformed the
corporate culture and relocated the company, building a state-of-the-art
facility which attracted highly skilled technical workers and larger
customers.

Dolch Computer Systems ($60M/Yr) was a manufacturer of rugged portable
computers and displays used in network and telecommunications testing,
medical, military and industrial markets.
. Managed by technical founders, this startup was in need of a team to
transition a test & measurement device into a portable computer platform.
Prepared a strategic business plan and built the infrastructure to make it
successful. Through product differentiation and customer partnerships,
transformed the company into a market leader in data acquisition and
analysis of remote telecommunication and computer networks. After
building a core team in the US to operate the business, expanded globally
and positioned the company for an Initial Public Offering. During the IPO
process, the company was purchased by a strategic buyer. Subsequently,
identified a target acquisition company, led the due diligence team and
managed the transaction, including the integration of the operations and
the two management teams. Was promoted to President responsible for the
global operations of the company, including five international
subsidiaries and their management teams. In 2004, the company was sold to
Kontron AG (FSE: KBC) ($700M/Yr).

mixed-signal semiconductors.
. In the late 1970's National was the first semiconductor company to take
manufacturing overseas where labor costs were significantly lower. As
manager of operational auditing, performed extensive reviews of all
manufacturing locations in Asia, evaluated internal controls and
recommended process and system improvements. Authored the first internal
audit manual and through reviews of distributor contracts, recovered $1
million in bill backs in a one year period.
