. Defined the business plan for a content security product after

validating the product idea with senior executives of Fortune 500

. Recruited the core engineering team and developed a fully functional

prototype of the system. The prototype detected confidential

information leakage of any file type over web mail or IM channel. Signed

Xpeed Networks

2000 - 2003, VP Engineering &CTO

Xpeed is a maker of broadband access customer premises equipment based on

XDSL technology such as bridges, router, PCI, USB adapter, and Intelligent

Access Equipment (IADs), xDSL modems, routers that would serve as mini-POP

for the Service Provider. The company filed for IPO in 2001 with over $20M

in sales and later merged with a private company. Development teams in

California and in Bangalore, India.

. Worked closely with Marketing, Sales and customers to define product

feature sets. Lead a multi-disciplinary Engineering & QA team of over

eighty through multiple releases of MTU, XDSL Routers, bridges, adapters,

eNDIS drivers for Windows PC. Protocols supported Frame Relay, RIP 2,

PPP over ATM, IP over ATM, MPoA, MPoFR, Web & AdventNet based Network

Management.

. Worked closely with customers such as NTT, KT, Hanaro and Softbank to

meet and exceed customer's unique requirements under very tight time

pressure while managing multiple parallel product releases on schedule.

Network Peripherals

1997-1999, VP Engineering

NPI is a pioneer in FDDI technology and was the leading supplier of FDDI

adapters and switches to Enterprises. . NPI is also a supplier of Ethernet

switches and a pioneer in stackable IP switching/routing products aimed at

the SME market. Development teams in California, NY, Texas, Hsinchu and

Taipei, Taiwan.

. Managed a multi-site US and overseas team of over eighty Hardware,

Firmware, Network Management, QA and Program Managers. Successfully

released six products that contributed to more than sixty percent of

company revenues.

. Improved the quality and timeliness of product releases by instituting a

Product Life Cycle Process. Rebuilt QA team in Milpitas and built a

Network Management team in Milpitas to manage next generation products.

. Lead three separate product lines- low to medium density Ethernet

switches, NuSwitch Layer 3 Gigabit IP (OSPF, RIP 2, BGP) switch/router

plus NuVision NMS through numerous releases on an aggressive schedule and

met all delivery commitments. At the same time supported large OEM

customers such as 3COM, Sun Microsystems with feature enhancements on

legacy FDDI products without impacting development schedules.

Hybrid Networks

1996-1997, VP Engineering

Hybrid Networks is a pioneer in IP based broadband cable modem and wireless

products with the largest deployment of last mile wireless products through

its carrier partners, AT&T, Sprint and MCI. Product consists of cable

modem, head end and Management Station.

Lead the Engineering team in the development of industry first IP based

CMTS, Cable modems and Management System. Built the Engineering

organization to over thirty people and a built the SQA team from scratch.

Team consisted of Embedded, Protocol, Network Management and QA Engineers.

Served as Interim Director of QA Instituted SDLC with formal reviews of

deliverables at every phase of the project.

Successfully released two products and took a third one to Beta trial. Met

the needs of demanding customers such as AT&T and Sprint resulting in high

degree of customer satisfaction. Supported domestic and overseas customer

commitments with limited resources and at the same time staying on track

with long term deliverables. The success of these products resulted in the

company going public.

National Semiconductor Corporation

. Lead the Product Marketing initiative within National in ATM and

Ethernet switching. Performed detailed analysis of market size,

competition and differentiation, revenue plan, go to market strategy

. Responsible for overall product, road map, product development,

first ATM OC-3 adapter with LAN emulation and signaling. Continued to

support several large OEMs after the product release. Trained sales

the ATM forum Traffic Management group
