PACS Coordinator role to provide IT leadership for hospital's technology
imaging informatics infrastructure located through-out Hunt County. Manage
all imaging informatics enterprise solutions projects, systems conversions
and performance tuning and monitoring of all applications/systems. Help set
long-range technical direction and capacity plans. Key Results:
. Led hospital's new Voice Recognition implementation of Nuance/Powerscribe
system. Supervised training clinics, optimized training documentation
prior to go-live and designed custom modifications to accommodate
Radiologists. Testing of all HL7 interfacing to Meditech (live/test
environment) and PACS Bridge interface to AGFA IMPAX ES.
. Installing Powerscribe has reduced transcriptionist workforce from 15 to
1 FTE's, also improved report turnaround time from average of 24-48 hours
to 2-4 hours.
. Documented QI (quality improvement) processes and executed comprehensive
training plans helping staff, physicians improve workflow in all imaging
service areas.
. Administering all servers and workstations in the Diagnostic Imaging
department has kept our equipment uptime for our enterprise solutions at
a 99.99%.
. Performing timely PM's and all repairs on departments imaging/informatics
equipment has saved the district an average of $100K to $150K per year in
SMA and repair cost.
. Automated previously manual, time-consuming processes to improve patient
