XPERIENCE:
8/2008 – 08/2010 Dr Matty Mathivannnan’s Medical Office Washington Hospital Center
Medical Assistant: Customer care, taking vital signs and triaging patients, follow up of referrals and lab results.
Communicate with patients and their families and other medical and office assistants. Filing and retrieving patients’ files.
Coding and filling surveillance forms. Counseling patients on preventive health interventions, smoking cessation and
importance of regular exercises was crucial part of my job. I received BLS and ACLS certifications at the hospital.
10/2007 – 10/2008 Washington St Mary Health Institute Washington DC
Assistant Instructor Pharmacy Tech: I lectured on fundamentals of pharmacy, basics of clinical trials and drug development
process. I also equipped the trainees with basic calculations, computer skills (MS Office, and pharmacy Database), ethical
conduct, and customer care. Eight of the 10 trainees passed the pharmacy Technician Board Certification Exam.
11/2006 – 10/2007 Ministry of Health, Palliative Care Dept Gaborone, Botswana
Principal Health Officer: Initiated and coordinated the development of palliative care guideline and training manual for three
levels of health workers. Lead the team that trained 50 nurses and physicians on palliative care using the manuals developed.
Mobilized support from stakeholders for the establishment of the training program. I was a member to HIV/AIDS and
Antiretroviral Committee, Counseling and Social Support and Health Research Review Committee. I supervised the
recruitment of study subjects, data gathering process and the follow up of missed appointments and incomplete questionnaires.
08/2000 – 11/2006 Kanye Seventh Day Hospital Kanye, Botswana
Senior Health Officer: Managed inpatients and outpatients, surveillance of infectious diseases of public importance such as
polio, TB and HIV/AIDS. I developed questionnaire and did survey on prevalence of hypertension in the local community
which was 18 % for patients above age 40. I was extensively involved in creating awareness on HIV for the high risk
population such as the youth and people with Sexually transmitted diseases.

Medical Officer: I was full time clinician in both outpatient and inpatient. I had worked as a assistant director for clinical
activities. I liaised with nongovernmental organizations and helped the needy who came to the hospital.
