Responsible for combination to secured areas of hospital i.e. Surgical suites, Maternity suites, Pharmacy
and Pharmacy controlled substances areas.
Responsible for receiving, properly storing, ordering and tracking of required items to maintain iv room.
Maintain manual log with control numbers of all items being prepared. Prepare all iv's in Lamitor Flow
Hood using aseptic technique . Handle and compound potentially dangerous materials, such as
chemotherapy, in accordance with pre-established guidelines and use of protective clothing to include,
gown, gloves, mask and surgical hat. Releasing of said items via hospital wide tube system to secure
nursing with a confidential security combination.
Selected to oversee to the limits of the law set forth by Board of Pharmacy, major conversion from one
sort of automated devise to a different company with a different layout than the first. This involved close
to 5000 items that had to be evaluated for size and proper stock levels based on reports of previous
usage. I was able to develop a computer program that would allow us to save countless dollars by not
having to double our inventory during the conversion.
Maintaining administrative control to research, analyze and evaluate narcotic discrepancies in the
automated drug dispensing systems. To research a case involved speaking with nurses. nursing
supervisors to resolve in detail the incidents and input data back into the software program of said
machine.
This process could also help identify trends and patterns to see if a different procedure could be put in
place to eliminate duplication of said errors
