MS. Darden is a senior logistics manager with over 26 years experience in
the US Army. Her principle areas of experience are in wholesale and retail
logistics; maintenance production management; readiness tracking; supply
management; force protection; operational planning; and training
management. She served as a Logistics Assistance Representative (LAO) for
the Army Materiel Command (AMC). In this capacity, she served as the AMC
focal point for the resolution of logistics problems impacting readiness
within a heavy division. She advised the Commanding General and principle
staff members on readiness performance and wholesale logistics issues. She
served as Logistics Support Element (LSE) Commander in Kosovo and Iraq.
While deployed, she established broad based wholesale support operations in

for communications. As company commander in a light infantry division for
24 months, she was responsible for the management and training of 200
personnel. She was a training developer for the US Army Combined Arms
Support Command (CASCOM). She was responsible for maintaining courseware,
editing doctrine, providing subject matter expertise for proponent
education system plans, training aids, and devices. She was the training
directorate Ordnance representative for the future force, modular force,
and lead agent for the combat service support (CSS) force protection

Relevant Experience:
Wholesale Logistics and Readiness Tracking. As LAO for a heavy division,
served as the AMC focal point for the resolution of logistics problems
impacting readiness within the division. Deployed to Kosovo as the LSE
Commander to provide training, leadership, and supervision for Logistics
Assistance Program (LAP) personnel assigned to the area of support.
Established broad based wholesale support operations in multiple deployed
locations providing mission critical logistics to tactical customers in
Kosovo. Worked directly with AMC item managers to resolve equipment
readiness issues. Expedited repair parts and provided technical assistance
to return non-operational systems to fully mission capable status.
Deployed to Iraq as the AMC LSE Commander and ensured the highest possible
readiness rates for the supported division. Ensured LAP personnel
completed pre-deployment training tasks in preparation for deployment to
Iraq. Performed duties as maintenance management officer in the Army
Central Command G4 during Operation Desert Storm. In this capacity,
provided theater maintenance support planning, readiness tracking, and
repair part support for communication-electronics. Developed problem
solutions with theater, Forces Command, DA, and AMC logistics community.
As Brigade S4 for an air defense artillery brigade, coordinated general
support level maintenance support for 1,500 wheeled vehicles. The brigade
achieved and sustained an operational readiness rate that exceeded DA
standards.
Retail Logistics, Property Book, and Unit Budget. As Brigade S-4,
coordinated sustainment for Soldiers in 21 company and battery sized units;
managed three organizational property books worth $800 million; provided
staff supervision for three SSAs; and managed the Brigade's $25 million
budget. Provided staff supervision for real property, two dining
facilities, and the Command Supply Discipline Program. Supported logistics
for high visibility missions on three continents. The deployments required
accountability and storage of entire battalion sets of MTOE and real
property, the opening and closing of consolidated dining facilities, and
the establishment and exchange of all classes of supply accounts.
Technical Supply. As Brigade S4, provided staff supervision for three
SSAs with a repair part inventory of $30 million. Implemented the Standard
Army Retail Supply System - Objective within the brigade ahead of schedule
with no loss of repair parts accountability and no adverse impact on combat
effectiveness. As company commander in a light infantry division provided
management of over $6.7 million of repair parts. Significantly improved
customer support by exceeding DA standards in all areas of repair part
management. Deployed in support of Exercise Team Spirit in Korea for three
consecutive years and provided repair part support during the exercise. As
company commander in a light infantry division, the main repair part
warehouse functioned superbly and measured supply performance exceeded DA
standards. The repair part location and inventory accuracy was nearly
flawless resulting in an extremely low 0.05 percent warehouse denial rate.
Performed duties as accountable officer for a Missile Maintenance Company
SSA with approximately 3,700 lines of repair parts valued at over $13
million dollars. The SSA met or exceeded all established DA objectives.
Repair part demand satisfaction increased from 54 percent to 76 percent.
Reparable exchange operations excelled in all areas with a zero balance
rate less than 3 percent and a reconciliation rate of 100 percent with all
units.
Training Development and New Force Structures. Performed duties as a
training developer Ordnance Officers while assigned to CASCOM. Analyzed,
designed, developed, and maintained active duty courseware for commissioned
officers. Reviewed and edited maintenance doctrinal publications for
Ordnance proponents and served as the Ordnance representative for future
force. This included reviewing and providing input to the Future Combat
Systems (FCS) Training Plan; task development for the forward support
battalion; and determining requirements for FCS embedded training, hands on
training devices, and desktop trainers. Assisted in the development of FCS
unit of action manpower requirements for the Ordnance School to include
instructors, training product developers, and doctrine writers. Work in
the modular force arena included assisting in the development of a
maintenance transformation training support package and recommending home
station training events for the sustainment brigade including exercise
type, frequency, and duration.
Logistics Force Protection. Performed duties as lead for the Combat
Service Support (CSS) Force Protection Working Group while assigned as a
training developer at CASCOM. Primary area of emphasis was to serve on a
task force geared to significantly improve force protection in the near
term. Analyzed lessons learned, after action reviews, and operational
needs statements to assist in identifying CSS convoy and fixed site
protection capability gaps. While serving as deployed LSE Commander in
Kosovo, ensured the safety and protection of LAP. Ensured LAP completed
pre-deployment training tasks in preparation for deployment to Iraq. While
assigned as an operations officer in a forward support battalion, developed
tactical base security plans.
Operational Planning. As Brigade S4, developed and executed support
requirements for brigade/joint exercises, and contingency plans for unit
deployments to Southwest Asia and Bosnia. Developed and coordinated in
under a year, the CSS annexes supporting the brigade's three major war
plans in two different theaters. Developed training scenarios to replicate
the brigade's anticipated wartime conditions and allowed the brigade to
support as it would during combat operations. As battalion S-3, served as
the commander's primary staff officer for operations, plans, organization,
training, and intelligence. Planned and directed the tactical mission of
the battalion. Drafted estimates, plans, and orders for multiple exercises
including the first forward support battalion external evaluation.
Supervised the preparation, planning, and execution of the Battle Command
Training Program, culminating in a highly successful Warfighter Exercise at
Fort Lewis. Coordinated and planned a Joint Readiness Training Exercise
that significantly enhanced the battalion's readiness to go to war.
Transportation. While deployed to Operation Desert Storm, performed air
redeployment validation for all Southwest Asia Theater units. Served as
the primary conduit for validating personnel redeployment requirements to
move US Forces from Southwest Asia to the US and Germany. Collected,
organized, and validated redeployment information from all units. Provided
validation information to the Joint Operations Planning and Execution
System. The validation process ensured the smooth redeployment of over
200,000 Soldiers from theater.
Production Management. Served as shop officer for an electronic
maintenance company that provided general support for Radio, Radar,
Teletype, Microwave Communications, Special Electronic Devices, and
Electronic Warfare equipment. Reduced the equipment backlog in the shops
by over 60 percent and increased average shop production better than 35
percent. The age of the maintenance backlog also declined significantly.
Over 90 day old jobs were reduced 61 percent, while over 60 day old jobs
were reduced 90 percent. Actively worked with the Battalion Materiel
Officer to surface test equipment and repair part problems. Successfully
planned for and supported the training/cross-training for all low density
occupational specialties in the shop.
