Professional Experience

Payroll and Accounts Payable Manager Regional Medical Center

2006 - Current

Responsible for Payroll and Accounts Payable managing a staff of 4.

Timekeeping using Kronos with 1,700 user and Teletime licenses, 200

Managers licenses. Kronos to Oracle interface payroll for two corporations

of 1,300 and 110 employees on a bi-weekly basis. Direct annual payroll

totals of over $83 million. Annual in-house production of W-2. In-house

Payroll check production using Oracle E-Business system. Provide guidance

and counsel to management on payroll and time administration issues in

accordance to legislation and collective agreements.

Management responsibilities include reporting and reconciliation of Payroll

and Accounts Payable. Month End close processes for Accounts Payable

totaling approximately $9 Million monthly and over 2000 checks. Completing

and filing the quarterly 941's, State tax reports, and reports to the South

Carolina Employment Security Commission. Report writing using Discover and

KBase Kubes. Assist, Controller, CFO and COO to present, provide and

interpret timely and pertinent Accounts Payable trends as requested and as

trends emerged.

Handle all vendor complaints, resolve problems with unpaid invoices. Work

directly with department managers to resolve Payroll and Accounts Payable

problems. Oversee the Kronos timekeeping system to track time and

attendance. Set clear strategic direction, and develop plans for both the

Payroll and Accounts Payable departments.

Jr. Accountant Kershaw County Medical Center

2000 - 2006

Assisted the Controller in Month end close process and prepared monthly

financial statements. Assisted with the annual external audit and related

review of compliance conducted by outside accounting firms. Reconciled six

bank accounts and associated journal entries. Researched and identified

over/under charges thru review and analysis of vendor's aging reports.

Managed Fixed Assets and CIP accounts using Sage software. Managed 52

million in investments in CD's, investments with Merrill Lynch and the

South Carolina investment pool. Responsible for Managed Care contracts

including analyzing actual against expected payments and recovery of

payment errors. Problem solving with regard to Patients Accounts via

communicating with Insurance Companies to ensure appropriate payment was

made according to the contract.

Accounting Assistant Kershaw County Medical Center

1999 - 2000

Lead Accounts Payable representative processing approximately 200 checks

per week and 500 invoices. Coded invoices/credit memos for proper account

assignment and keyed into computer system for processing. Assisted with AP

audit by outside firm that resulted in no findings of under/over changes.

Communicated with vendors to address inquiries and resolve issues.

Demonstrated talent for quickly learning new tasks and completing

assignments ahead of schedule while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
