One of three core managers chosen to launch a new company. I was tasked to
create and manage the department responsible for the production for a
weekly publication, giving art direction, coordinating recourses for
display advertising from sales people, relating constantly to printers to
ensure deadlines, and ultimately, every week, publish a quality document
ready for distribution.
And every now and then I got to do what I love... AD DESIGN.
Provided management and marketing skills, along with creative talent to a
small antique gallery business grossing approximately $1 million/year, and
launched it into a $10 million/year enterprise, by aggressively marketing
in niche markets not occupied successfully by competitors.
Provided strategic leadership in the production of auction catalogs, from
directing digital photography through digital graphic design, layout to
publishing, working with printing vendors, negotiating contracts and
deadlines - and coordination of mailing services. Even though they were
event-specific publications, they are still sold through outside vendors as
currently valuable reference publications.
Established all technical procedures for creation of all marketing
documents for a retail company, producing volumes of direct mail, ROP, POP,
posters etc.
